FTA: What's more, federal workers put in less time than private sector workers. As we noted in this space previously, government data show that employees in local, state and federal governments are 38% more likely to take time off work for illness or personal reasons, and miss 50% more hours than private sector workers.
It's also nearly impossible to fire a federal worker, no matter what the reason, as various government audits have shown.

That would be a good start.
No one would even notice.

A new survey finds that more than a third of federal workers are threatening to quit their jobs should Donald Trump prevail in the presidential electionIf they were smart, they would wait until he fired them so at least they could continue to live off the government dole/unemployment insurance for a while, didn't Obama extend it to 3 years or something ridiculous?

I spent 24 years in uniform and another 15 as a DOD civilian - those who claim this are the ones who make the rt of them look bad - no way they will get off their gravy train.
These folks are like all the "celebrities" that keep promising to leave the country....all talk and no action.

Come on Mr Trump, you can do better than that. Isn’t there anything you can say or do to get that number over 50%???

Someone should unionize them. Maybe the air traffic controllers would be a good inspiration.

Not going to happen. Not going to jump out of the feather bed into the cold harsh reality of the private sector.

Talk is cheap. How many people left the country after the GWB elections who said they would?
That gubbmint easy money is hard to turn down.
Now, Trump might just close a few departments and force the issue, but that’s another matter.
To: afraidfortherepublic
The 35% are the smart ones.
The others will be fired or brought up on charges.

At least 35% of them are involved in some kind of fraud or corruption, so they are going to have to
I suggest Trump (in his inaugural address) announce a 1-year amnesty program for turning yourself in for government fraud, and after that a mandatory 10 year jail sentence and 10% reward for whistle-blowers.

It’s a BS article. The word “quit” implies that they were working in the first place, which they aren’t.
To: afraidfortherepublic
I’d be amazed if even 1% of those leeches quit.

Most will likely continue to recieve Federal monies thru retirement, benifits, etc.
But if they leave maybe it will offer an opportunity to downsize some of the waste.
