Gawd, I hate this state.
Wonder what they’ll do with Thomas Johnson High School and Taneytown?
Ignorant liberals.
He said Dred Scott was property, no matter where he was, even in a free state.
Put his statue above his grave.
I’d blow up Taney’s statue, so that future tourists could gaze upon the rubble. No need to honor a Chief Justice who upheld slavery in the U.S.
On the other hand, I wouldn’t remove Thomas Johnson. Might as well remove George Washington statues for the same reason.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Taney declared that a black man had no standing in court. And further, that henceforth a black was not, could not and never would be a citizen with the rights of a citizen. Taney was no good. His decision led to the Civil War. Let history note that.
There is a Memento Park in Budapest where they display all the old Communist statues that were taken down.It is quite a tourist attraction.
The Hungarians seem to handle these things quite well-—we seem to be knuckling under to a minority.
.
This is all due to the infestation of DC liberals thanks to I270. Only in the last 20 years or so have these commies reached a head with the huge exponential rise in housing for their ilk.
They are soooo offended by our history, and the locals are now forced to submit to the invaders.
When are they going to insist on nearby Taneytown being renamed?
So why is it OK to retain the l slave owners as opposed to someone who merely tried to decide based on law?
These were great men, for all their faults. They were not (wait for it) Hitler, for God’s sake.
Our first state governor being “dissed”? This is reprehensible.
Oh, and I knee-jerk oppose any of these changes because I know it is all about making violent whining screaming leeching welfare people feel better. I refuse to give into that. They want everything. I’ve had it.
