I'm sure! One book I'd really like is a good history of Sardinia, which from prehistory on was a center of conflict and colonization ... sort of an island version of Judea.
Alibris.com has some old academic studies that look interesting, but they are hundreds of dollars.
” Fwiw, its from the natives of the Caribbean (relatives of Venezuelas Wayuu) that we get the term cannibal.”
IIRC it’s also where we get barbecoa/barbecue. Be careful when you order the daily special at the Kalinago BBQ.
Nice price, btw, on the Penguin Atlas. Might be something for Pat’s birthday or Christmas present. Ever since he started computer programming and higher maths, it’s hard to get him off the computer. His siblings staged a shrieking revolt the other night - “Kathleen, you should scream now!!!” - because he was graphing vectors in bed and wouldn’t shut the lights out.
Sometimes I wish we had a bigger house, or at least more (if smaller) rooms.

There aren’t a lot of large herbivores native to the Caribbean/South America. Just what were they grillin’?
Great! We have experts in everything here on FR - you’re our champion cannibalism chef!
The Aztecs lived in Mexico, not South America. The Caribs lived in Venezuela, and I think they did indeed practice cannibalism.
Then again, our prisons probably resemble Venezuelan luxury hotels. :-)
