I have to think that Trump will turn this around to his favor. He's a survivor. He's a real person, not a life-long politician. He's a real male, has thoughts, this time caught on tape, that most of us have likely thought at one time or another. Not sure I like the whole tit-for-tat that we'll likely see as I really do not care what Clintons did or do in their personal life any more than I care what Trump does in his. I'd rather focus on the issues where the differences are meaningful and will actually affect us come January 2017.
Trump is on the higher ground defending words while attacking Hillary for actions yet this is going to be a very difficult fight to win because the audiotape plays into the narrative. Perhaps that's why Hillary went to such pains to create the narrative, because she had this tape in her pocket all the time. When a gaffe confirms the stereotype it always does far more damage.
Hillary has another advantage, she cannot win this election if the electorate makes rational judgments on her record. If you ask her what she has managed to accomplish she really has no answer so she cannot campaign on her record, she must campaign in the gutter and this places Donald Trump and his campaign right down there in the muck with her. Down here she has the advantage of money, media, demographics, the geography of the electoral college and an advantage in the polls. Trump must not lose a single battleground state while carrying the burden of all these obstacles and fending off the narrative.
Trump has got to pivot like a Dervish and bring the campaign and the debate back onto issues. That will be hard enough but the odds are there will be another October surprise leaking from the Clinton camp.
For the record, this is not created by the never Trumpers, not done by Ted Cruz, not the fault of FReeper's with insufficient zealotry for Trump, this is all Donald.
I'd pay his campaign $500 for the look on her face and the false outrage of her and the "moderators" (not to mention the LSM) ....
Trump is fearless and innovative, he is will try things that other GOPers would shy away from.
We hoped Trump would have a better plan than his predecessors.
He does.
Trump understands very well, that Hillary is the target. His clear princple goal, is engage Clinton, tie her down and bleed her to the greatest extant possible. If everything goes well, she will fall.
Like Grant to George Meade - "Wherever Lee (Clinton) goes, there you will go also."
Our McClellan, Burnside, and Hooker were named Bush, McCain, and Romney.
Very well said.
I think that is a fair comparison, and an ugly win beats a graceful defeat every single time.
"Over the last three years I've realized that the Republican Party and the Conservative movement is not what ABC and CBS puts on the screen. They try to portray you in the worst possible light, and when I walk through CPAC or I travel the United States to meet people in the TEA Party who care...black, white, gay and straight...anyone who's willing to stand next to me to fight the progressive left, I will be in that bunker. And if you're not in that bunker, because you're not satisfied with this candidate...MORE than shame on you...YOU'RE ON THE OTHER SIDE."
--Andrew Breitbart, 2012 CPAC Meeting Speech
Trump needs to drop bombs on all the liberal media figures too!
scortched earth Trump!
Breivty is the Soul of Wit.
And you have it :)
What you don’t get is that Trump’s single instance of holding the Clintons accountable is about a million times more valuable than a billion holier than thou attitudes.
This was a Jeb Bush family Hit coordinated with the Clinton Crime family.
More phony holier than thou spin from a Cruz zealot.
Go play Confederate Army dress up somewhere else.
I don't agree. I remember being told that the Clinton's marriage was their own business and didn't impact the office.
What Clinton did was while he was in office. The Dems don't get to act all offended over words when we were scolded over his actual acts.
Hillary working with Soros is far worse and dangerous, IMO:
Actually the person I have the most revulsion for is Monica’s father. As I remember he reacted as a lock-step loyal Democrat not as a father. He was all “Ho-hum well boys & girls together, etc. “. He should have been white hot with anger but he wasn’t, he was a good Rat apparatchik.
I just viewed Monica as an immature air-head and I guess she continues to be one. Donna Rice (of the “Gary Hart incident!) grew up, learned from her mistakes, moved on, etc. Of course all that was before the Clintons contaminated the Rat party, the nation and anything & everything they touch.
Hillary pulled the pin on this grenade to deflect from the emails and speeches released by Wikileaks. It betrays some concern on her part considering content of the email release.
“Imagine that! A candidate that actually admits to his faults!”
And I LOVE that he deliberately LEFT OUT the liberal “if anyone was offended” part.
That’s true. She was a foolish girl, no doubt. But Clinton was way older than she was, HE was the married one, and he had the power.
What Trump said 11 years ago was disturbing and inappropriate. However, If Dr Dobson is correct and Donald Trump accepted Christ as his savior in June and asked for forgiveness; he is now a changed man. Until I know otherwise I will also accept him as having been forgiven. Do you?

For what? Have you actually watched the tape where Trump made the comments? In the context of the situation he’s just bantering with the other guys.
Watch what Trump actually said in context, and see if you still think what he said was even offensive in that context.
Bears repeating. The whole deal comes off completely differently when seen and heard than it does in print.
Locker room talk is an apt description. Of course, the problem is most will never see and hear the video.
The even bigger problem is the GOP pile on, followed by the inevitable groupies that are no doubt lined up to complete the take down.
The establishment is a very powerful foe.
“I think he should have stopped before the Clinton part”.
Screw that, Hillary and her friends wanted to play in the Mud, down the cucksucker in it.
I think you are missing my point.
Trump apologized and took responsibility.
He doesn’t need to minimize what he said.
However, bringing up Clinton makes it look like he is minimizing his mistakes.
This does not take what Clinton did off the table for other discussions. But when you are apologizing you should not justify it with a comparison of other bad behavior.
Thats all. The two are not related.
