Neat! I used to live on Revere Beach and would look out at Nahant every morning when I went to my car to drive down to Wonderland. My husband proposed to me on the beach at Nahant. Interesting place, cute houses, loved the old WWII observation towers or whatever those things are.

I lived in Newton and Nahant was the beach where I would take my kids.

We all loved it.

I always wished that I lived there.

Well said.

My husband hurt his back in June and the hoops he has to jump through for medication are ridiculous.

Thank you Bill Clinton, G.W.Bush and Barack Obama. Also this stuff is being cut with bathtub Fentanyl from Mexico, the Fentanyl makes it much more deadly and unpredictable to use.

What shocked me about the story is that they handed Narcan kits out at a community meeting and stressed that even a child could use one to revive a parent that overdosed.

So I guess they expect the addict parents to sit down with their 5, 6, 7 year old kids and instruct them?

"If you can't wake mommy and daddy up but we are still breathing, get this stuff and give it to us" (followed by instructions on administering it).

One way to identify some of the druggies in town would be to ask all the children if mommy and daddy have taught them how to use NARCAN.

When people have lost the sense of outrage they’ve lost the ability to contain evil.

Excellent! I am SOOO stealing that!

The FR libertarian drug advocates say this is no problem at all.

Bull***t.

Harm was done here to innocent children by irresponsible adults. No libertarian (small 'l' or capital 'L') advocates for that.

Where do FRs “drugs are a victimless crime” advocates stand on this?

irresponsible adults.

You mean adults can't do what they want with their bodies? How nanny-state of you.

Au contraire, if money were redirected from the silly fight against marijuana toward treatment for addiction you would see a lot fewer cases.

It’s easy to relegate the parents to the trash heap, but addiction is a powerful demon.

My prayers for the poor children but this was part of the Eternal One’s plan to get them to a better home and hopefully a better life.

Also not sure if anyone has praised the bus driver - he probably saved the lives of 3 children.

And I think you need to understand that the Bible was not written by God. I believe in the Lord as much as anybody else I have no doubt of my face. But when I seem to be seeing here is you folks using the Bible as an excuse to do nothing the Bible like the Constitution is not a suicide document. Let me ask you a simple question the Bible says in it among other things the Lord sayeth vengeance is mine. The Bible also says turn the other cheek. So let me pose this situation to you and give me an answer of what you think you would do in the following circumstance. You are the president of the United States. One day an enemy of ours,be it North Korea, Iran, it doesn’t matter, detonate a nuclear device within our country and kill hundreds of thousands if not millions of people. We know for sure who the responsible party is. What do you do. It is 100% your decision to react to this tragedy, what will you do, will you turn the other cheek, wait for the Lord, are you going to take action yourself on behalf of the people you have pledged to protect and defend? Or will you instead preach forgiveness?

Charles Stanley had a very interesting (to me, anyway) sermon on TV two Sundays ago. He was talking about intellectual faith and saving faith ... there's a difference. There are many who profess to be 'religious', warm church pews, etc. & who do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I had the sad occurrence to be with someone who had intellectual faith for decades, but when it came down to dying, she was afraid because she did not have a personal relationship with her Savior & in fact, was down to questioning if she believed in God at all. It is rather horrific to see someone so afraid when they see nothing but a black abyss waiting ahead of them. The alternative, with a personal relationship and saving faith, is to look forward to forever being in the presence of God's love.

As Stanley says ....Faith is one of the greatest assets God has given us, and the Father has provided it for everyone who is rightly related to Him through Jesus Christ. Morals/values are empty unless 'rightly related' ... just as Tim Kaine's "personal" beliefs on the sanctity of life are meaningless when he politically sells his soul to the Devil. I'd like to be a fly on the wall (so to speak) when he comes face-to-face with God and has to answer for himself ... I can imagine a short conversation, one along the lines of Matthew 7:21-23

21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

I got carried away here ... bottom line, I agree with you. :-)

Thank you for offering your perspective. It is worthwhile to consider, maybe in this case, but certainly in many others. Pain at that level reduces your quality of life. My aunt suffers back pain, also.

Heroin used to be “safer”. It gets cut as you said, with really bad stuff now. Many, many overdoses now, it’s not just because the addicts don’t get oxy. The heroin is more prevalent, and worse. The former county sheriff told me 2 or 3 years ago that the MX gangs were getting out of mj since not so much profit, and selling a lot more heroin.

A couple of things have to be done, three that I can think of.

1. Execute drug dealers

2. Any child with drug users is taken away until that parents is clean for one year.

3. NO gov bennies whatsoever for any drug user.
