Sorry Mr. Gates, but nobody is "informed about the world" until they get in the WH and appoint the BEST military advisors. You should know this being a military advisor. What did a short-time Senator Obama know about world affairs or being the CiC? And what has his policies done for US credibility and military might?
Trump has a reputation of appointing the best people for the right job, contrary to Obama purging our best military leaders and appointing Hillary as Secretary of State. We all know where that has led us.
As for shooting from the hip, let me tell you its about leveling. I've gone to shotgun training within the last 2 years and going again with the wife next month. They instructed me to shoot from the hip, under the armpit, and of course from the shoulder. I hit the target from all 3 positions.
While DT does shoot from the hip, he simply needs to level (aim) his comments for affect. Trump could have simply said, "If Hillary is against guns, then maybe she should instruct her security detail to disarm". There was no need for him to go further and say, "...and see what happens". As innocence as those remarks and others are, he sets himself up for criticism because he doesn't aim well. Hope he does better in the debates.
Almost everyone over the age of 15 knows enough to think before hitting send or post buttons. We here on FR have all learned this lesson, and unless you are down about 1/2 a bottle of Jack Daniels at 3 AM, you apply discipline and rigor and ask yourself "do I really want the world to read this."
Since you are not inherently stupid, we have to ask, were you drunk or did you just have a Hillary moment? We are your friends and we want to know if an intervention is necessary before you do yourself more damage.
Gates sounds like Al Gore spouting the complex problem of climate change. The elites are saying that only they can solve all these problems the rest of us peons could not possibly understand. John Kerry speaks the same way when he says that a problem is multifaceted. In other words, don’t worry about the method of solving these problems as it’s just too complicated and that gives them the wiggle room to impose anything they want.
