I lived in Grand Junction for 15 years. Please don’t be too hard on these guys. What they did was really dumb, but it doesn’t represent their normal behavior. They are a pretty good small town force, and they’re stepping up to the plate for repairs beyond what any big city would do.
To receive compensation for the physical damage the residence incurred, the victims must file a claim(s) against the county and/or municipality from whence the police were dispatched. Said entities can challenge the validity of such claims and usually do.
They’re indoctrinating people to accept this as good in the police state that they want to impose upon us.
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

If this happened to me I'd very likely be dead, because I'm always armed after dark and frequently sitting in the living room tinkering with one firearm or another. And if somebody breaks in the door without warning they're going to look down a barrel, and some trigger-happy SWAT guy is going to tell the press later that the homeowner behaved in an aggressive manner. You don't win that one because you're dead.
sue the living fuch out of them.
confiscate their pensions and wages.
