In contrast to the 4 shameful Dolphins players who dishonored the national anthem, did anyone notice who was standing directly in front of them in the video? It was none other than a Black United States Marine, in full dress uniform, helping to hold up the giant American flag that was being waved during the anthem.
What a contrast: one Black Marine who was a credit to his race, compared with 4 Black Dolphins players who brought shame instead.
So far, here's my data, please correct any errors:
In KC the Chief players linked arms and one raised a fist. The crowd didn’t show any reaction, and since my Chiefs came from 21 points down to win in OT then all is forgiven.
All the Atlanta Falcons along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers stood.
The NFL is perfectly fine with this behavior, otherwise there would have been a blanket directive—either you stand or you walk—issued prior to the season opener.
These idiots are NFL employees, and they are irreparably soiling the brand.
Team leaders for the Bengals wore NYPD/NYFD hats for the coin toss before their NY game against the Jets.
On a positive note: Giants wide receivers Beckham and Cruz wore 9/11 commemorative shoes against league orders and risked being fined.
Action: turn on the Monday night game, and when Kaepernik sits during the national anthem, turn off the TV immediately.
