“”Trump can play this line over and over and it will blunt any and all future name calling if he gets out in front of it.””

The campaign definitely should grab it. “Generally simplistic”, Hillary? Are you kidding? Sees nothing wrong insulting the citizens of this country who will vote for her opponent? How narcissistic of her...We can all think of names to attach here:

“A 2012 book on power-hungry narcissists suggests that narcissists typically display most, and sometimes all, of the following traits:[7]

An obvious self-focus in interpersonal exchanges
Problems in sustaining satisfying relationships
A lack of psychological awareness (see insight in psychology and psychiatry, egosyntonic)
Difficulty with empathy
Problems distinguishing the self from others (see narcissism and boundaries)
Hypersensitivity to any insults or imagined insults (see criticism and narcissists, narcissistic rage and narcissistic injury)
Vulnerability to shame rather than guilt
Haughty body language
Flattery towards people who admire and affirm them (narcissistic supply)
Detesting those who do not admire them (narcissistic abuse)
Using other people without considering the cost of doing so
Pretending to be more important than they actually are
Bragging (subtly but persistently) and exaggerating their achievements
Claiming to be an “expert” at many things
Inability to view the world from the perspective of other people
Denial of remorse and gratitude

They are despicable. Just look at them Communists, black racists who think they can kill police officers, people who think that the middle class should be made poorer and stripped of their political power through illegal immigration, also atheists, homofascists and. Oh wait those are all Democrats.

Give credit to Obama and for that matter to Romney, who made their respective remarks disparaging their opponents in low profile private gatherings well before the election. Here we have Mrs. Clinton making inflammatory remarks within 60 days of the election in a very visible venue. This is the sort of mistake that is surprising from a person with more experience than either Obama or Romney.
It adds to the speculation about her mental and emotional health.

I wonder if desperation is causing her to go off-message, thereby dismaying her handlers... or if her whole damn organization if going nuts together in a giant political straitjacket parade?

Good question. Hillary is typically scripted. Hard to say if this was sanctioned by her inner circle of loons, or if she slipped and said things that she normally reserves for private audiences -- off the record events like her Goldman Sachs speeches.

“Deplorables and irredeemables” who should “never be allowed to rise again”?

Now why does that sound sort of familiar? Possibly a paraphrase from Der Sturmer? Yes, what exactly are Hillary’s plans? Possibly Star Chamber hearings, firings, followed by a Kristalnacht fomented against such “deplorables and irredeemables”? And then what?

With that sound bite and the right talent Trump’s team could make Goldwater and the daisy girl ad looks like it was done by amateurs.

Hillary calls ‘half’ of Trump supporters ‘basket of deplorables’

I’m sure she understands the meaning of “deplorable” since she is defined by that label and dishonorable, disingenuous, disgusting and many other “D” defined descriptions.

Team Trump needs to meme this as Hillary's 47% quote and pound it in to the population.

Alarming at the vitriol being spewed. Even sadder is there are plenty of ignorant supporters of hers out there how have no problem with this.

I think Reagan won with the line:

“Are you better off today than four years ago?”

“Are you better off today than four years ago?”

Yes, that too.

Although it didn't have an impact on me, simply because in 1980 I had just graduated from college, and four years before had been an undergraduate who worked summer jobs for minimum wage.

When Reagan ran against Carter, I was in my first "real" job. I was aware of some of the problems, like 18% interest rate for home mortgages, but it didn't affect me directly because I didn't see myself as a homeowner any time soon. The main thing I noticed was that the price of gasoline kept going up and up, and the only thing I saw that Carter actually accomplished was mandating those annoying back-up beepers on construction equipment, which I found highly annoying and stupid.

But you're right, that question was a killer. Carter and the Democrats had nothing to say against it, and I know that most people

This is another gift to Trump. This is a gaffe of lethal proportions. Hillary is toast.
