This is an excellent strategy. The media lives to portray back people as ghetto, however the fact of the matter is most black folks are conservative and religious. I know a lot of hard working black folks. Some are very successfull business owners who volunteer thier time towards the betterment of the community.
These are the votes Trump is after.

I remember hearing an author on a radio show a couple of years ago saying that Republicans don’t even spend a day campaigning in areas with heavy black populations, because they can’t waste any time, and they think they won’t get any of their votes.
What I don’t understand about the black vote is Reagan only got 9% of it in 1984, and he won 49/50 states, and Bob Dole got 12% of it, and he only won 19 states.
He says 95 % so the media will excoriate him over the unachievable number...
All the while they report on what he said...
If he said 50 % of the african american vote, the media would yawn and never report it...
So it might be safe to say, he will pull a good 25 to 30% of the black vote if my thinking is correct.
Most Republican candidates, since American blacks entered the Dem plantation early in the 20th century, know they can’t successfully woo black voters with a conservative message of self-reliance, law and order, and the work ethic. So they didn’t try. They know it’s not what the vast majority of black voters are looking for. With the exception of about 5%, they are looking for government handouts, having been conditioned to expecting them for generations (not that they ever get enough from the Dems to satisfy them). Rebublicans (like Trump) will never out-promise the Dems, and their conservative message won’t resonate; ergo, they will continue to be relegated to low single digits in the black vote. If Trump is elected he might get more than 5% of the black vote in a re-election bid, but nothing approaching 95%.
An embarrassingly preposterous prediction Trump had no need to make and which makes him sound like a blustering buffoon.
If Trump can merely secure a 15-20% share of the black vote, Clinton has absolutely no shot at winning.
