These same Republicans were fighting his message tooth and nail before he was the nominee, perhaps because their treachery is a part of the message. At best, they are fighting the last war with their strategies and attitudes.

Well, the Donald...picking the wrong fights too often has certainly worked well for him so far, much more than anyone expected. I think if Trump had listened to the hand-wringing "experts" and "pundits", he wouldn't have done nearly as well, and could very well have lost to the likes of Cruz, etc. Trump being Trump is what got him here and to win he needs to "dance with what brung him."

There are a huge number of American like myself that love Trump simply being Trump. It's a breath of fresh air from the stagnant politically-corrected speech they try to feed you. I think that may be the biggest thing he has going for him. Honest, genuine reality. Total contrast to the corrupt PIAP Screech.

Trump’s between a rock and a hard place on this.

If he simply stays on message the democrat smears will define him like they defined Mitt Romney.

If he responds to the attacks the MSM throws a sissy fit for days and Trump’s message (and Hillary’s lies and missteps) get ignored.

Trump’s fighting Hillary, the democrats, the MSM, and half the republican party officials.

I myself have said we must let Trump be Trump. Conforming to tradition will lose. I continue to marvel at his instincts. Time and again he pops off at what appears to be a sacred target, which turns out to be a fraud, exactly as in the case of this muzzie immigration lawyer.

My fear is the initial flak makes an impression and it takes some time to expose the fraud and by that time the damage is done and hard to undo.

“I doubt very seriously that he’s lost ANY.”

Just like all most areas of Florida, the Tampa Bay newspaper ad local cable are just extensions of the DNC. Most people in FL live for the outdoors; boating, swimming, beaching, cycling etc. and they rely on the local cable for weather because it changes very fast almost every day. They have bee running this story for a week, on stop; free attack ads for Clinton.

Trump hasn’t spent a dime on ads here in the last 3 months. If you think they are not drawing off votes, think again!

"This stuff about the Kahn family is not important in the larger scheme of things".... Disagree, it has shined a lot of light on the situation.

I have the same reaction. Trump sent a clear message that if you come out and take me on you will be vetted, thoroughly. The consequence was that Khizr Khan was found out for what he is - a trafficker in underpriced "business investment" visas, has taken down his website and had to hide underground.

Which rent-seeker in the great Democratic global sellout is up next to take on Trump? Come on - who is next? Going once, going twice next.

My God, what does it take to get through to you people? I KNOW they aren't drawing off votes, because "ads" aren't what got him votes in the first place. At best, it is a democratic effort to "show the flag" for their loyalists.

Trump has co-opted the news cycle to win his support. (Sound familiar?) He's running on his enemy's dime. The press has finally figured that out, but now they are locked in a vicious circle. They have to lie to score against him, his supporters do the journalist's job of substantiating their claim, the supporters take to the internet to publish what the press tried to do, the narrative goes away because they don't want to talk about their own duplicity, this cycle further reinforces the general public's impression that the press is "out to get" Trump, thus making the next cycle that much less credible.

This is NOT 2012!!!

You must be all knowing! I’d guess you’re going to be in for a rude and crude shock. If you think that Trump is controlling the MSM right now, I’ve a lot of useless crap in my garage to sell you. Right now he is getting his clock cleaned and if he doesn’t straighten out fast, we will all lose.

Interesting that The Losers are so quick to offer advice to The Winner. Things that make you go, “hmmmmm”.

Maxisthebest is one of the biggest hand-wringers on FR. If only Trump would hire Max and listen to him everything would be otay.

You know..that’s probably a good idea. The last thing he would need is OhioMan, king of the groupies. After all, why live in reality when you can enjoy fantasyland for free. Which reminds me,; I’m sure you helped Trump reach his goals last month and this month; I know we did 4 times.

And just because you, me and my wife really like “Primary Trump”, who ran over 16 opponents and made us laugh and feel proud at the same time, the rest of the voters are looking for “General Election President Trump”.

You got that right. Right now, as also in July, people are not paying much mind to the politics other than for political junkies. Summer vacation mode.

When I was a young man playing sports, I remember guys like you freaking out when things got tough during the heat of competition. I always had to calm them down and tell them to stay focused on the task at hand. In this case, don’t let the democrats, GOPe, and the leftist media make you think all is lost. Let them freak out.

-- Trump is just fine and doesn't need the GOP to tell him what to do. --

Trump's interview with O'Really last night was pretty good. Trump acknowledges that he can improve. That's a good thing. He has good people around him, he listens to them, and I'm sure he doesn;t always follow their advice - sometimes the heat of a moment just takes over!

BOR’s “No Spin Zone” has a fair amount of politically-corrected speech and thinking which I loathe and despise. This Khan thing is so stupid and BOR and other “political experts/advisers” try to tell Trump he shouldn’t have responded. Haven’t we had 28 years of wimpy empty-chair GOP candidates who “play nice” (read “play right into the Leftists hands”) and who don’t go after these quislings? I literally thank God for Trump.

“The counsels of war breed timidity.” I hope Trump stays the course and keeps being Trump. I’m concerned that Trump’s listening to these advisers brought us what looks like a politically-correct Pence which may have been a big mistake if Pence, like Bush Sr. as Reagan’s VP, is not the guy to carry the torch in 2024. If the right guy doesn’t get in in 2024 to finish the job of dismantling 80%+ of the $4 trillion mostly unconstitutional federal government, then America may be finished. But I believe God has other plans for America, so something’s going to happen for the right guy to walk into the WH in 2024. 2024 is a very big deal.

BTW, Trump has the perfect riposte and counterattack to Obama and the Lefties attacks about his defending himself against this con-man Khan and not being “fit” for office. It’s called RULING ELITISM. Obama and Hillary are precisely the ones who are unfit for office because they are career politicians and, therefore, are presumed to be corrupt. The average American is much more fit for office than Obama or Hillary or any of their Leftist corrupt-politician buddies.

The corrupt ruling elite believe and want you to believe that ordinary Americans are unfit for office. Only certain specially chosen politicians are fit. That is political elitism, a form of the divine right of kings. The doctrine of the ruling class. It is the antithesis of what America stands for and has always been.

What these quislings really want is tyranny and power by taking money belonging to the American People to rule over them. As Reagan did, so Trump must (and I think will) shine the light on how despicable these characters are and hammer these points home until these traitors have nowhere to go but hide somewhere, maybe even joining their Islomofacist friends in their caves.

I despise O'Really, he's stupid and arrogant, a bad combination.

That said, Trump gave a good interview there last night.

As for O'Reilly's part, he opened by saying Trump should ignore the Khan story, then intro'd Trump, then asked Trump to comment on the Khan story. Trump pointed out that Bill O'Reilly was the one bringing it up. I thought Trump presented himself very well, he showed that he is aware of the criticism, and that maybe he could have handled it better, but what he did, defend himself and then move on, isn't inappropriate. He also pointed out, correctly, that the press is responsible for making it into a four day story.

Agreed, and I hope Trump turns it around on the heads of these leftist quislings.

Being a PC guy, BOR does seem to get insights into Leftist strategy like what he said about the Clinton campaign strategy, basically what we’re hearing from Obama and the media the last couple of days - that Trump is “unfit” for office. Trump has the PERFECT counter to that: they think they are the ruling class and this is a ruling-elite argument. Trump can turn this around on the heads of these traitors the way Reagan used to. Hope he does and I think he will.
