Hmm, weird little problem — ordinarily I’d say there’s somethin’ up with the character set pref in your browser (or in my case, in the 10 year old OS), but if that were true, your first attempt would have had everything on one line. Your second attempt appears to have had a NBSP at the end of the text string with the URL, that might cause the URL to not be recognized by the software here. Always make sure there are no trailing chars, that’s my best guess for now.

Using bare text links in the first message (when the topic is created) won’t work, that’s just part of the software here on FR, always been that way.
