-—A 20% import tariff balances the budget tomorrow.-—
A 20 % tax on imports would be passed onto to consumer...
Thanks, but I’d pass...
Borrowing money into existence is no more inflationary than printing it.
Then we print money and die. Stupidity reigns supreme. The founding father have provided us with the tools we need to get out of this mess. If only we would follow their example.
You could kiss our banking system good bye 5 minutes after that happens. With that much liquidity sitting on their books, no US Dollar as the world’s currency and our banks rapidly drowning in the liquidity.
“I said if we can buy back government debt as a discount. In other words, if interest rates go up and we can buy bonds back as a discount, if we are liquid enough as a country we should do that. In other words, we can buy back debt as a discount,” the presumptive Republican nominee said in a telephone interview on CNN’s “New Day.”
Those who said he wants to buy debt and default on it are “crazy,” he added.
...
Trump is absolutely right. The media is twisting his words to attack him in any way possible.
80% of the economy is purely domestic and tariffs would have no bearing on that part
Correction 90%.
Good thing we don't import any food, medical equipment and supplies, or construction equipment, tools, and materials.
Good luck getting the Rothchilds to go along with that plan. It's the same plan they use on the entire globe.
Either Donald doesn't know whom he's dealing with (Sun Tzu), or he's taquiyaing us.
So, I actually believe Trump. He is not the most eloquent speaker and I can definitely see how he was misunderstood due to his lack of clarity. HOWEVER, when I questioned the wisdom of his first comments that could have been construed as a creditor discount, many Trump supporters advocated for "Haricuts", especially for the FED. !!! I wonder if they are now disappointedLOL.
Import tariffs pretty much funded the federal government until the passage of the income tax amendment.
Zimbabwe’s government can print money too
Anyone that has done Chapter 11 Foreclosures four times understands debt better than the media does. In fact,he may be the richest candidate on the stage, but he has more debt than all of the candidates in this years elections combined. He has stiffed more banks than Willy Sutton. China, Japan,Saudi Arabia and Europe are all bankers to the US through T-Bills and our currency. So he will bring his ‘bank stiffing’ skills to the world. All who hate bankers should support Trump. As he said this morning, “you never can default on debt because you print the money. I am the King of debt. I know more about debt than anyone.”
A warrior’s drink!
Anyone who thinks this is silly ought to consult Alexander Hamilton, who did exactly this in 1789. He structured a menu of debt to prevent default, allowing those with less faith in the government to cash in immediately at lower rates, those with more faith to hold for larger returns.
...
That’s why Hamilton is an early American hero. He wanted America to honor its debt and found a way, while others wanted to default. And America had a ton of debt at the time.
Buy from domestic suppliers and avoid the tariff. IF the domestic suppliers raise prices then someone will come in a take up market share so prices will adjust downward accordingly. It is called greed and greed can be useful. And if you don't think that will happen the you really are not a believer in the theory of supply and demand.
Disregarding your statement, it’s actually very brilliant and those who have been following Trump knew what he was saying — and knew he would misrepresented by the press — and knew he will recover, gaining more ground, and garnering more free TV publicity.
One thing to remember for you people coming out of Trump denial is this: Almost every move Trump makes both attacks and defends at the same time.
Trump is going to sail through his vetting during the Presidential Election. That’s the real fear the Democrats have, Trump will actually be a better candidate than Hillary.
