Indeed. That’s the most revealing and damning thing one can say about the American electorate. We aren’t who we thought we were, and the trend isn’t towards getting better.

Term limits needed to protect ourselves from ourselves.

The author makes an excellent point.

Why do Republicans vote to reelect RINOs year after year after year?

In my opinion, the GOP has been a centrist or center-left party since at least 1904, when they reelected Teddy Roosevelt.

Absolutely.

Not everywhere of course. But in carefully selected precincts, the cheating is almost transparent.

Pay attention the next time an important vote is close; most of the time, there will be a handful of areas that are “late” or have “voting issues” or are ordered by judges to keep the polls open after their normal closing times.

They’re most always controlled by the party bosses.

Oh yes, that has happened, that form of “voter fraud”.

“Citizens complain. Then keep sending their rep and senator back...
over and over again. Insane.”

Yes, because it’s always “our guy is a great asset,” but the guy in the next district is a “disgrace.” It’s like Texans nominating Ted sCruze, because “he’s their guy,” even though he’s not native-born and quite likely isn’t even eligible to be president.

It's the same reason that we never get spending cuts. The federal dollars allocated to the other state or district is "pork." The federal dollars allocated to your district is always a critical project well-worthy of federal spending.

Term limits needed to protect ourselves from ourselves.

That would partly protect voters from their own bad decisions, but it would also to protect them from the power of the RNC/DNC, their PACs, and their media outlets, all of whom back establishment incumbents and black out the opposition. There are many reasons other than just lazy voters for incumbent inertia.

So Trump voters vote for RINOs?

True. It is hard to break the incumbents advantages against an outsider.

These guys have to know that the political office they have is not a career.

Yet no one bothers to talk about them

or ask questions about them

They’d rather opine on men in dresses @ Target

So true; our little Republican primary voters are nearly as uninformed as their Democrat cousins.

I voted for Cruz, but the women I know all think he is creepy, I personally am very unimpressed with his military service and stylistically he seems to be more USSC material than CINC...but the choice is limited this year. I wish there were a Ronald Reagan, Paul Laxalt, etc. to vote for but there isn’t...too bad. Any GOP pick for the USSC is better than HRC will do.
