I, too noticed those empty seats in the stands while watching televised NASCAR races.

You make a good point. However the safety factor has increased tremendously. I give them a lot of credit for that.

I agree with the better safety aspect.

But the body template doesn't have to be the same.

The different body designs affect the speed and handling making for a real competition.

And fans can identify more with a car that looks like the ones on the showroom floor.

Having one body template makes it more like the old IROC races.

But making the teams pay to use the mandatory NASCAR design brings in a lot of money.

Goodbye Nascar....you are as irrelevant now as the driving skills of Danica Patrick who would not even have a “ride” if she were not a female.
I also refuse to patronize Target and any stores that put up Gender Neutral Bathrooms.
We have lost the moral high ground and thus the reason our Republic exists in the first place the death spiral will only increase in speed from here on out...

The car manufacturers, corporate sponsors, and the TV networks pay the drivers. All three are Leftist strongholds now that Big Business + Big Government have merged into a Neo-Fascist State.

Welcome to the Brave New World.

Never thought I’d see this. If true, NASCAR is dead to me, ending a 50+ year relationship.

I quit actually going to races when they went to ethanol & "NASCAR Green".
(check out the front stretch in today's race)

I will continue to watch on TV simply because F1 and Indy cars are so pathetic, drags only show what the broadcaster wants to show, X Games' auto cross is only a couple of times a year, and no one televises sprints & midgets.

Media + Cultural Elites + Government + Corporate America...

All in favor of perversion, depravity, molestations. This is the America we now live in. A truly sick, evil mirror-universe of everything we once were as a people and a nation.

This is a country to gives ones life for? A country to pledge allegiance to? No way. Not until the elites who are in charge are vanquished to hell where they belong.

If that’s a “Baptist” organization i’m the King of Siam. Looks like a Leftist SJW Catholic site if anything.

I remember back in the mid-late 80’s, ESPN on Sunday had a full card of all-day racing. Sprints/midgets, F1, BGN, NASCAR, etc. Made a good day for us motorheads. No more...

NASCAR apparently doesn’t know who it’s fans are. Or maybe they just don’t care.

Auto racing is definitely in a bear market trend.

You can look at the reduced number of Generation Z getting driver licenses compared to historical numbers.

Over the past couple of years, I’ve noticed A LOT of empty seats at NASCAR races. Part of it might be generational (auto sports are less likely to appeal to our increasingly sissified populace), but part of it might be that NASCAR has signaled that it doesn’t respect the values of its core audience.

Auto racing seems to be dying. First, Indy racing never recovered from the CART/IRL split back in the 90s, and now the stands at NASCAR races are half-empty. As for Indy cars, apart from the Indy 500, its hard to even find the races on TV anymore. The top racing drivers used to be household names even among non-fans, but I doubt that’s been true for at least ten years.

"Corporate America"

Yep. We conservatives used to think that we shared some values with corporate America, but that illusion has been shot down during the Obama years. On every social issue, they - often quite unnecessarily - come down on the side of political correctness, perversion, and anti-traditionalism. And NASCAR is totally dependent upon corporate sponsorship. The sponsorships will start to dry up when the corporate execs see all those empty seats and the reduced TV ratings.
