Was Colorado the biggest pyrrhic victory in modern American electoral politics?

The system is rigged.

Water is wet.

Sun comes up in the East.

Life isn’t fair.

And the pattern repeats: Trump says something, people Run in Circles Scream And Shout (RICSAS), some people actually think about it, and decide Trump was correct!

In other words, ‘so what if the system is rigged’?

The reason he’s winning the ‘rigged’ argument is because everyone can see it for themselves.

Even the Cruzers here on FR who argue that Trump is benefiting from the system in ‘winner take all’ states are tacitly admitting the system is rigged.

The point of a civilization is to impose a degree of fairness on the unfair.

That said, Donald unabashedly offers a more populist view than we used to have. A more indirect form of republicanism flourished when people trusted one another to conduct themselves honorably even when disagreeing deeply.

The time for the long leash on the body politic has passed, and people are beginning to realize this. The state shouldn’t be our godfather, especially. It should be our minimally agenda’d servant, and watched like a hawk. Too much “liberalism” has precipitated its own punishment.

>The more restrained version, as you can see in a recent op-ed published under Trump’s name in The Wall Street Journal, is that the candidate who gets the most votes should be the Republican nominee — that delegates shouldn’t upend the people’s verdict.

Yep. People innately agree with this idea with is why CO and voterless victories has been such a disaster for Cruz.

it is working because that is how we, the majority base feels about it and sees the truth... Trump is our hero brave enough to speak the truth and is our voice, GO TRUMP!

Seriously---get ready for the "voterless elections" and "ground game" to be used in the Electoral College, and or Congress's approval of the Electoral College results.

No worries if TRUMP wins. But Hillary? You heard it hear first. We're being conditioned.

Problem is that we can't trust politicians AT ALL, and if they get hold of the Electoral College with their "we had a better ground game" meme, we're sunk. It would work if we had statesmen like the Founders as senators, as we once did. And honest people as Electors. And honest people in congress. (Which could not be found today with Diogenes Lamp)

Cruz’s perfect family

Ted inhaled cocaine, and talks about it. I guess that’s what “A Time For Truth” and “the only principled candidate in the race” means.

“In other words, ‘so what if the system is rigged’?”

No.

Trump is right the system is rigged - rigged against We The People.

By calling it out, Trump states the obvious.

Ridiculous is the deflection tact - he’s “whining” like whining is bad and should be scorned when your being oppressed.

Trump is taking it head on and winning the arguement.

Voterless results? Rules changes? Buying commitment against the will of the people?

And by condoning this crooked behavior, they are admitting they have no ethics nor morals. In that sense, they should be endorsing one of their own kind, namely, Hillary Clinton.

In the end, I think Trump and Co. will thank the CO GOP for assuring him of a victory in California by overplaying their hand and showing Cruz up to be an insider hypocrite.

Sure seems like it. I haven't heard any Ted Cruz supporters explain any reason why Cruz tumbled so much in the polls, post-Wisconsin. I don't know what else it could have been.

Vote Trump

It’s working because the system IS rigged and Trump is the only one who’s brought it to light. For instance in my town we’re voting on Tuesday in Pennsylvania. On my doorknob tag I had a sample ballot for republicans and only one piece of literature for John...I’m a loser...ksick. Nothing for Trump, nothing for lyin’ted. You tell me-rigged or honest. no contest. Can’t wait to leave this party and register indie.

Trump has exposed a lot of people who were previously considered rational, even conservative.

I’m done with Rush, for example. I could live with his unwavering Cruz support, but his constant lying about Trump has made me question everything he says.

BTW, anyone seen CincinnatisWife lately?

Like explaining how the Mexican’s are going to pay for the wall, he and his team are really doing a bad job explaining this.

Even something like: Right, the rules are the rules.

The party insiders call Colorado and tell them, look put all the delegates towards Cruz.

The rules are the rules! would work better than how they are explaining it...

Ironic that two of the most transparent moves by the GOPe to assist Jeb and Rubio the fallback candidate have backfired so beautifully.

Florida and it’s 95 WTA scooped up by Trump. Then Trumps turns total defeat by the #nevertrumpers in Colorado into ultimate victory by exposing the insider games for all to see.

Announcing this rigging instead of ignoring it is long overdue and it’s working, as it well should.

One more old Establishment gate keeping tool is about to fall.

Cruz shot himself in the foot by missing the train entirely on this delegate crap, and instead is seen bragging about working the system, the blasted rules and the “process”. It is deserving that he be bit in the butt by his own bragadocios indulgence in chicanery.

It’s also, for TRUMP a perfect addition to his not-gonna-take-it-anymore themes.

We like this stuff exposed. Well... not you, but you know... the rest of us.

The country is getting a crash course in Civics 101, ala TRUMP and “aloha, Cruz”.
