The plurality rules? Is that really where conservatives want to go? Because this argument is being put forward every day by Liberals who want to change the US voting system to eliminate the Electoral College as the ultimate vote system to elect the President.

Why are Liberals and some low-information votes so hot for a system where a plurality can dominate our political processes at all levels? Because it favors them, Dummy.

Take away the Electoral College and the Democrats who control most of the larger population states will win every time.

The Founding Fathers were worried that larger states would control the country without taking any cognizance of the interests of rest of the smaller states. That’s why they set up a system which is a Republic with some balance in the system between the large states and the smaller ones. They knew that a pure Democracy would lead to the tyranny of the majority.

How would you like it if every Presidential election was determined by a popular vote of just the voters of NY, Kalifornia, Pennsylvania, Florida, Illinois, Ohio, and a very few other states. Talk about rigged. As it is, the Dems already have an advantage in the Electoral College because of their continued control of the so-called Blue states.

But they can’t (yet)simply ignore the smaller states with smaller populations, but those states have to be won by Republicans or Conservatives or Trumpsters if anyone but the Dems is ever going to be elected.
