'm glad those who endorsed Cruz were able to put aside policy differences (and in the case of the Bushes, personal animosity) and support an actual conservative, as opposed to one who recently decided he wanted to play one on TV.

They are only doing it to try and deny Trump a majority of delegates. If Cruz accomplishes that, they will turn around and stab him in the back. It's what RINOs do.

So we might well end up handing the nomination right back to the GOPe after seeing two anti-establishment candidates dominate the primary season.

How right you are 20, this is so crystal clear it’s beyond parody.

As I’ve said already today, the amnesty crowd pushing Cruz (for now) have revealed their hand and the end game.

It will be amnesty for all if Cruz gets the nom and loses to hillary. It will be the same if they push him aside and toss up Ryan or any other GOPe loser, we get hillary and amnesty.

I’m beyond disgusted that Ted, the principled conservative, is part of this dirty game. He has proven himself to be an out and out fraud!

I would say Trump or Cruz both have a good chance of defeating Shrillary.

I don't think that's a good assumption. Right now the media is sympathetic to Cruz only because he's viewed as someone who can "stop Trump". If you assume that he can successfully do that and somehow become the republican nominee then that "tailwind" will vanish overnight and he'll face the same sort of overt media hostility that Trump has enjoyed from the outset.

You can rest assured that by the time Hillary & Co. are done with Ted he'll be painted as a rabid theocrat who shouldn't be let anywhere near the nuclear codes. The eligibility questions will also take on new life exactly as Trump predicted once the general election campaign is underway.

The net is the best Cruz can hope for is a repeat of Romney's electoral map in 2012. No blue state is going to switch to Cruz, and he'll have a lot of trouble in the purples.

Trump's crossover appeal, by contrast, will put formerly "safe" blue states in play all over the place even as he sweeps the purples. And since no red state is going to go for Hillary over Trump, odds are that Trump wraps things up early on November 8th.
