Yes, we need to spend hundreds of billions defending the EU in spite of the stupid decisions they make... because we’re total fools.

I’m with Trump... Dump NATO - - AFTER dumping the UN...

I too am tired of the US taxpayer propping up these socialist states and making it seem that socialism can actually work.

BS !

Socialist ALWAYS run out of other peoples money, by militarily protecting them, we have just allowed them to spread the lie that social can work. For years I have been arguing with kids that are drawn to socialism, and they ALWAYS point to western europe as an example of how socialism can work.

“He added: “I watched as we built schools in Iraq and they’re blown up. We build another one, we get blown up. We rebuild it three times and yet we can’t build a school in Brooklyn.”

he’s effing’ right. Those ingrates didnt even award any oil refinery to America even though countless American lives were lost defending these pukes.

It's completely ridiculous that the U.S. pays 75% of NATO's budget, even though the EU as a whole has a bigger economy than the United States. It's a complete screw-job for the U.S.

I mean, NATO has a tiny 2% pledge for defense spending among members nations, and almost none of these leeches fulfills their end of the bargain:

Hmm could it be a 1949 Treaty designed to protect a war ravaged Europe from Soviet aggression is an anachronism in the Modern age?

Trump is spot on! What he’s saying is that a more equitable distribution of the costs associated with maintaining NATO. Actually, he needs to say the same thing regarding the UN. That nest of snakes would cease to exist without the 22% of it’s budget we pay currently. It quit being anything useful to free peoples of the world when they started giving seats to all the petty dictators around the world. Trump is right, we’ve worn the “kick me” sign for too long. It’s time for the rest of the world to pay for their own security.

What the hell is the purpose of NATO? Turkey is a bigger enemy than Egypt or Jordan, yet Turkey is in NATO. Ridiculous.

Nato is not necessary for any purpose. According to this article we are spending $Billion a year and $billions more to deploy our troops and equipment to be used for what? We are paying more than any other country by far— 25% of their budget. We are broke. We have borders , infrastructure and American people HERE!! http://www.cbsnews.com/news/gates-criticizes-nato-how-much-does-us-pay/ The cold war is over. The Russians are on our side with ISIS!! What are we doing there?

Former Defense Secretary Robert Gates agrees with Trump back in 2011.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/gates-criticizes-nato-how-much-does-us-pay/

Is Trump really calling for a total pull out or just pointing out the fact that as we increase our NATO spending European is cutting theirs, and that this has to stop.

It appears that NATO is becoming the army of the United Nations. That’s a problem.

Perfectly correct. Let’s see how the Euros do with their anti-American, leftist ideas when they actually have to pay for crap.
