McCain is an argument in favor of national term limits. He may, in 1983, have been an Arizonan going to Washington to represent Arizona interests but by now he is a Washingtonian dropping by Arizona occasionally to represent Washington interests. Unfortunaely the seniority system in place in Washington helps ensure these pols become more and more alienated from their constituents. Even if he loses the primary, chances are very high he will find a way to stay in Washington, his real home.

I’ve been here since 2000 and NEVER heard anyone support McCain. You got the right forum?

I remember McCain getting some very strong support at FR.

After he was nominated? Because this was his support before he was nominated.

Free Republic Opinion Poll:
Would you be for or against McCain?
Member Opinion
against 92.4% 2,989
for 7.6% 247

Trying to blame McCain's problems on Trump!

If I were in Ariz. I would vote for the Democrat!

After he won the nomination, Freepers slowly convinced themselves to support McCain as a vote for Palin. I was one of them. Then, they did everything in their power to undermine her.

Good read, AuntB, thanks for linking.

Evidently, Mr. McCain also believes he deserves 'a unique kind of status'.

That says it all, the slime ball is a legend in his own mind.

America can’t win until careerist multi-term incumbents are thrown out of office.

All of them.

I stopped posting about McCain’s treachery after he was nominated and voted for Palin too but I don’t recall FReepers trying to undermine Palin.

Poorly constructed sentence. FReepers didn’t do the undermining, McCain and his staff did.

Ah, OK, I thought that was probably it but the only way to know was to question the apparent premise based on the reading of it and get a response.

Yep, McCain’s team tried to kneecap her. Weird since they talked McCain out of his choice of Lieberman for VP and into choosing Palin.

Arizonans are not paying attention if they return this elderly RINO to office.

There was a fairly large group of anti Palin posters here from the beginning.

There were also a lot more who supported her through it all, although many of the Cruzer delegation that previously supported her have thrown her under the bus since she endorsed Trump.

I don’t recall any anti-Palin posting during the election.
Must have missed that.

So, they’re blaming Trump if McCain loses because Trump will be at the head of the ticket.

If I was in AZ I’d vote for the democrat.

I don’t live in AZ but if I did I would vote for the Democrat in the D jersey this time to get rid of the Democrat in the R jersey. Next time elect a real Republican, not an open borders traitor like Flake and McCain.

Governor Palin better not save his bacon again.

I agree. She doesn’t have to campaign for him.

Palin was responsible for Cruz getting elected in Texas, I’d have thought that would have earned her a little respect if not gratitude, but no, she went from golden to white trash with quite a few of them, just for endorsing Trump. Not their finest moment, imho. Pretty shameful.
