“Last night I was laughing along with Newt at Sean Hannity and his wild theorizing about a brokered convention. He got about half mad at Newt who would not play. Newt basically schooled Sean that its either going to be Cruz or Trump and most likely Trump either of which is infinitely better than Hillary.”

Earlier this week he said that there is simply no way that there will be a brokered/contested convention. Neither Trump nor Cruz will allow the GOPe to win, they will combine their roughly 80% of the delegates and just run over them. Like a freight train over a penny on the tracks.

I agree with you about the polls in general, but trotting out the old canard of the 1980 election is rather pointless, unless you can point out any other cases where something similar happened? Because I think that election was a special case....

“Uh, where do you think Gingrich has been since he stepped out as speaker and walked away from his House seat?

K Street. Where many lobbyists, consultants, former elected and appointed government officials, pundits, commentators work. “

Uh, every hear the Godfather’s advice? “Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.”

A leopard doesn’t change its spots - Newt has had it in for the Establishment from Day 1, and got to be Speaker because even they understood that only he could lead to a Republican majority. They thought that they could control him, and when they couldn’t, they managed to get rid of him. He’s the same guy, who dearly loves his country, and his vast knowledge of history (he WAS a history prof, after all) tells him that unless we significantly change course, this ship will crash into an iceberg before long. He, like Trump, wants to stop this. He, like Trump, understands that the GOPe suffers from an acute case of Normalcy Bias, and ONLY cares about its power and perks, not the country.

By my reckoning, those who want to destroy the GOP are either leftists in disguise (unlikely), or useful idiots.

A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city(KJV).

How much more a serf?

BTW, funny how you miss the fact that Trump’s “astronomical negatives” are only 2 points higher then Clinton’s.

Funny how that never gets mentioned by the Cruzlims, isn't it.

THAT'S the kind of tendentious rhetorical assault we've gotten from the right of Trump. From. Day. One.

Maybe Reagan vs. Carter was a special case, and I don’t have statistics to prove otherwise. But doesn’t it stand to reason that polls that far out (8 months) would be unreliable? Does’t it make sense that hypothetical polls asking ‘what if’ questions about theoretical match ups, would be unreliable?

Doesn’t it make sense that polling about candidates who haven’t even won their own party’s nomination, who haven’t faced each other in a debate, who in one case is under federal investigation, would be suspect?

Doesn’t it make sense that pollsters either have their own political agendas and often get paid to do manipulative push polls? Doesn’t it bother you that pollsters have no real incentive to be accurate until few days prior to the voting, at which time they scramble toward an accurate prediction.

Face it: polling of who people will vote for in eight months is beyond useless, it is a pure manipulation.

If that’s in fact true, bonus for Trump. Getting advice from those who know how to get around this oligarchy is necessary. Ted on the other hand, is stuck playing to the tune of the GOPe which draped themselves over him. Brilliant!

Great list. The new meme is Trump is a progressive whatever, courtesy of Levin, the mad barking dog who can’t see the forest for the trees.

Didn’t Trump just get yet another endorsement from a GOPe congressman from New York today? But who cares because. . . . Trump!!!

The humiliation Trump afforded Christy in exchange for unlikely political survival is one. The quick backtracking Carson is attempting is another. Carson sold his soul for an appointment then realized what was happening.

Yes if worst came to worst Trump and Cruz would definitely team up and put a stop to any attempt to derail them.

I see you live up to your name, Durbin is THE dumbest member of the Senate - there is a small contest as clearly there are others as dimwitted as he.

Anyway, I know the fact that the GOPe is riding in to prop up Cruz kinda flies in the face of the whole ‘outsider’ meme, but facts are facts.

I am tired of all these people who have never accomplished anything in their lives to support conservative Americans. I am tired of them acting so high and mighty and proclaiming that Trump is not a conservatives or that Trump has no good policies or positions.

They are simply liars.

With Trump it's double barrel, with Cruz it's triple barrel.

The lamestreamers will most certainly be lame....

Rush, while clinging to Cruz, nevertheless has really put his finger on what these people have to lose financially and in terms of their prestige and power

I'm not thinking in terms of loss at all. I anticipate a new party focused on protecting life, liberty and property by diluting power in the Federal Government.

Carson sold his soul

Carson never understood that conservatism was a lot more than a feeling.

Ouch. Watch the doughnut not the hole. Keep an eye out for something new and positive to arise out of this destruction. A movement much more difficult to co-opt or counterfeit.
