I wonder how Mark Levin squares his constant slamming of neoconservatism, and Graham and McCain, with the fundraising that Graham is about to do for Cruz. All these people selling their souls.

Remember it wasn’t that long ago Cruz had nothing but acolades for Trump. With this many people in the Republican Party venomously opposed to Trump, he must be on the right track.

Did anyone here notice how Putin went to war in Syria with overwhelming force, killed a bunch of people and broke a bunch of things, and called his troops home? That’s the way to do it - even if you aren’t on Putin’s/Russia’s side (which I’m assuredly NOT). He did on a smaller scale in Syria what we should have done in Iraq (if you accept the premise that we should have gone in there in the first place). Get in, do what you need to, and then leave the mess for them to clean up.

I have confidence that President Trump will have to order that done exactly once...after which no one will screw with us until the next Dem enters office.

Let's start with that maniac that Cruz has chosen to embrace and make an integral part of his campaign:

Speaking in the voice of the heavenly father, Beck told his audience, "You're welcome. I just woke the American people up. I took them out of the game show moment and woke enough of them up to say, look at how close your liberty is to being lost."

Reverting back to his own voice, the radio host added, "You now have lost your liberty. You replace one guy and you now have 5-4 decisions in the other direction. Just with this one guy, you've lost your liberty so you'd better elect somebody that is going to be somebody on [the Supreme Court]...The Constitution is hanging by a thread. That thread has just been cut and the only way that we survive now is if we have a true constitutionalist."

This isn't the first time Beck and other prominent Cruz supporters have claimed there's some divine power behind Cruz's candidacy.

Last week, Beck praised Ted Cruz as the man who could get America through the rapture.

"Fall to your knees and pray to God to reveal to you what the hour is," Beck proclaimed at a Cruz rally in South Carolina. "This is your last call, America! Stand, stand with the man I believe was raised for this hour, Ted Cruz!"

While you're pondering that, maybe you can explain all of that '7 Dominions/7 Mountains' clap trap that is part of Cruz' religious beliefs, that whole 'annointed to rule over our society' stuff his evangelist father kept preaching about?

"Rush let the cat out of the bag this morning regarding Cruz’ sure-fire strategy that he had planned out for winning the presidency.

Apparently, Cruz had lunch with Rush a couple two or three years ago where Cruz explained his plan. He figured that Romney lost in 2012 because five to six million evangelicals stayed home. So, Cruz figures he already has the conservative vote naturally locked-in, and can take the tea party and non-establishment vote, and the rest of the Republicans (even the establishment) have nowhere else to go, so all he has to do to win it is snare the evangelicals. Thus he comes out with a campaign custom tailored to woo and win the evangelical vote.

And it may have worked like a charm had Trump not exploded on the scene with a bold plan to build the wall, enforce the law, deport them all, secure the nation, Repeal Obamacare, straighten out the trade deals that have devastated our manufacturing industry and jobs, cut taxes with a Reaganesque tax plan, rebuild the economy, bring manufacturing, capital and jobs back, rebuild the military and make America great again. And as a last minute bonus, Trump throws in slapping a moratorium on Muslim immigration.

Surprise! It caught on like wildfire. But Cruz was not concerned. He continued on nonchalantly, smug in the knowledge that the evangelicals would never support Trump and that his plan was sure to lock them in. All Cruz had to do was lay low and wait for Trump to implode.

But something went wrong. Evangelicals (and other demographic groups you might think would never support a guy like Trump) are flocking to Trump like crazy. Cruz can’t figure it out. The consultants can’t figure it out. The media, the pundits, the democrats, the establishment—no one can figure it out.

Rush explains that like all demographic groups, evangelicals are not monolithic single issue voters. Not even on abortion.

It turns out that evangelicals are also concerned about securing the borders, rebuilding the economy, bringing back manufacturing and jobs, cutting taxes, cutting spending, cutting government, building a strong military and (not surprisingly) taking a tough stand against Muslims who are chopping the heads off Christians.

Rush may not have directly said it, but I believe he may be thinking that Cruz blew it trying such a narrowly focused campaign."

Now the best thing you can do for your political and intellectual equilibrium at this point is to ask yourself just how long you want to keep trying to swim up the waterfall, not unlike those hapless and hopeless salmon, all desperately hoping they might somehow make it to the happy spawning grounds?

Face it: Cruz is done. There are only two useful things left that Cruz can do, the first one would be to withdraw and support Trump and acknowledge that the greater goal of defeating the 'RAT candidate this fall has the highest priority. Free Republic is a family oriented forum, or at least we try to be classier than your normal everyday run of the mill, slap 'em together forum. We have seen a significant increase in the amount of risqué comments and graphics being posted lately. Please tone it back a notch or two. The 'aw not this **** again' graphic and bared breasts are inappropriate. Let’s remember, we’re Free Republic, not some wanna be site, and certainly, we’re not some liberal chat site. Let’s keep our standards high. Strive for excellence. For the most part, we are educated, responsible adults. A simple comment to that effect will suffice. We don't need to see F*** or s***. The English language is a great tool; learn to use it. It really lowers your credibility as a poster when you resort to profanity and flames.
