Give it a break. You can only sell that crap to the ignorant, and there are plenty of them around. But you can’t sell it here.

What you refer to as "crap" is the intent of our Founders. Americans have never elected an openly foreign-born president, and in the unlikely event that we were ever tempted to abandon our common sense principles in that regard, Cruz would still offer zero enticement.

Well aren’t you special.

Exactly the kind of snide, content-free, intentionally nasty comment I was writing about. Thanks for the confirmation.

I doubt very much if you have the slightest idea as to the intent of the Framers.

I have taken my perspective on this matter (and I have been studying it for over a decade) from Emmerich Vattell, who I know for a fact was held in high esteem by the Framers and whose works were consulted frequently:

“I say, that, in order to be of the country, it is necessary that a person be born of a father who is a citizen; for, if he is born there of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth, and not his country.”

So, Ted Cruz was Bron in Canada, but according to Vattell, Canada was “not his country” - it was merely the place of his birth.

In point of fact, if you accept the notion of natural citizenship at all, you have to accept the fact that every child on born has a natural citizenship inherited from his parents, or at least from one of them, and in the case of Ted Cruz, that natural citizenship and allegiance is to the United States of America.

If hes so conservative why did he did blame Trump for the violence done on his rally by the moveon.org and the black life matters thugs ?

And, if Cruz should get the nomination, who would he blame when the BLM thugs go after HIS campaign?

Cruz has a Canadian birth certificate... There is no way Cruz will ever be a ‘natural born’ US citizen... I am reminded of Christ speaking to those that sit in Moses seat.. Moses was the official law giver. Look what the legal sages have done to our not your US Constitution....

Cruz was a natural born citizen of the United States at the moment of his birth and has remained so ever since.

All your sophistries and legal mumbo-jumbo, contortions, and twisting of words will never succeed in changing that.

You note correctly that Ted Cruz has a Canadian birth certificate (actually Albertan), but so what? Alberta was his place of birth. What jurisdiction do you imagine should have given him his birth certificate?

Emmerich de Vattell: “I say, that, in order to be of the country, it is necessary that a person be born of a father [i.e. parent] who is a citizen; for, if he is born there of a foreigner, it will be only the place of his birth, and not his country.”

Born ABROAD to a CUBAN father, mother's citizenship status MURKY at the time of his birth. Too many problems with Ted. He'd be better off running in Canada.

Cruz's 'father' did not become a US citizen until 2005. Do you even read what you quote? Did Vattell add [i.e. parent]? You have a record of demonstrating that you are willing to pervert the law to your own personal desire. What did Cruz use to get an US passport.... Somebody knows that. And if you think Hillry is going to allow a Canadian born, Cuban, junior senator deny what she believes she is entitle to have you are sorely out of your league.

Some people are born to deceive and some people are born to be deceived.

I live in realville, and am not a gambler with 'a time for truth'!

He’s supposed to be so brilliant, he should have known how waffling and saying Trump bore responsibility would work under the laws of cause and effect.

All Cruz is guilty of there is grossly underestimating the ridiculous degree of distortion of fact and outright lying about what he actually said. He put the blame on the protesters for their actions.

He also said that the leader of a campaign is the candidate and if that candidate uses violent and coarse rhetoric the campaign will tend to be violent and coarse.

Which is obviously true.

Lied..about, but Cruz didn't lie, nor did he 'side with' #BLM or any other anarchist group. Apparently, because he didn't kiss Trump's butthurt, though, he isn't with the campaign of St.Donald of Trump, so he's on the same side to you people as the Communists. We know, the whole world is against you...

just effing delusional.

I must, however, commend the Trump campaign, syncophants, camp followers, and others in the baggage train for their highly effective use of tactics laid out in a book by a fellow who dedicated the volume to Satan. You must be so proud.

Rubio staff is telling conservatives to vote for Ted Cruz! I figured Cruz will get the majority of Rubio’s votes, but if Rubio’s staff is pulling for Cruz, it will be better than I thought.
