I bet they didn’t mention that the guy who created Mt. Rushmore had been a member of the KKK.
Thus a slave state till the end of 1865. Like Kentucky, Delaware and Maryland.
Now, stop being mean with the historical facts contrary to modern political narrative.
You give the lying revisionist too much credit claiming they are clueless. They are certain of what they want to portray, the lies they float, which means they have to know the truth in order to fabricate such skillful lies. They are the enemy within the gates.
What about West Virginia?
/s
unfortunately modern political narrative is commonly mistaken and even enshrined as history.
Spacey’s a talented homosexual, but alas, just a reader.
It is ironic that in the North slavery was a states rights issue.
There was no West Virginia in 1858, so it is correctly shown on the map as part of Virginia.
West Virginia seceded from Virginia during the Civil War and was granted statehood on June 20, 1863. It then became part of the Union.
Probably because MO was a Union state.
Huh? No, no, no!!
Missouri was a slave state. It was part of the Missouri Compromise which admitted Maine to the USA at the same time that Missouri was admitted. One free state and one slave state.
When the German immigrants began arriving in Missouri, it caused a lot of stress in the population as German immigrants were totally anti-slavery. They were mostly Lutherans, Catholics and Methodists. President Lincoln called for volunteers to protect the Union properties. The largest part of the Missouri GAR volunteers were German immigrants.
It’s also ironic that the Three-Fifths Compromise, now regarded as so dehumanizing and racist, was the result of Northern insistence that slaves not be taken into account for purposes of determining representation in the House Of Representatives, whereas the South wanted slaves to count as a full person.
After the terror attacks in France, Obama said (live) that they shared our values of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; the white guy working the teleprompter corrected him, and he then said they shared our values of liberty, equality, and fraternity.
He tried to free-lance as a literate American...
Bull! TENNESSEE was a CONFEDERATE state! My great-great
grandfather was a Confederate soldier who fought at
Shiloh, TN - a bloody battle! His words to my grandmother
when she was a child, “Shiloh was a horrible MESS, Izora!
So much confusion, so much gunfire I could not even tell
whether or not I killed anyone - but don’t know how in
the world I could have even helped killing people!”
I’m almost 70. Grew up with my parents taking me to the
battlefield at Shiloh; the Bloody Pond was still very, very
dark blood stained when I was a child. It has faded with
time; as wars tend to do. TN was the last out of the Union
& the first state back in the Union; but we were OUT for
a time, let me assure you. - Can’t speak for KY. - YA’LL
invaded our land & our homes. Mr. Lincoln was not
worshipped quite like you people worship him. Daddy
always said Lincoln WANTED that war, that he did not have
to INVADE THE SOUTH! - Now, ya’ll move down here to escape
the cold up north & carp about how STUPID us Rebs are.
WONKERS! Stay up there!!
Preach it, brother!
Virginia also held a popular vote for secession.
