On the ground Cruz cleaned up in Texas.

Agree. There are four large Dem centers in Texas: Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and Houston. A lot of the population is in those cities and they all are essentially sanctuary cities. Open primaries in TX permit the Dems to cross over and vote against the Conservative candidate they don’t want to win. That’s possibly why Cruz got a smaller percentage than expected. ....The Dems would rather run against Trump.
Slyfox.... Your ‘about me’ page is great! I spent at least 30 minutes there.
No spamming, please. Thank you.
Im actually surprised Cruz did as well against Trump as he did in Texas.

Perhaps it was just the difference between Texas lifestyle values and NYC lifestyle values, plus the fact that Cruz has done what he promised to the voters who put him in the Senate.
Almost 60% of the people in Texas didnt vote for him,...
***********************
Kinda like in all the primary voting thus far that about 65% haven’t voted for Trump?
I meant by another candidate. (hint, hint, Donald)
Where? Hawaii? Idaho?
Trump is winning. Sure he loses the stupid caucus’ but he won the entire south. I think he should be himself. Cruz finished third on super Sunday. Embarrassing for a guy with so called momentum.
How many times had that many strong choices on the ballot?
Throw in demturds and there is likely over 60% of Texas that dont want Cruz.

He did win his Senate primary in a run off with some 56% of the vote and
won the general over the democrat with the same.

That was before we knew he was a Canadian citizen :(
In 2012 Newt Gingrich won Georgia with 47% of the vote. Rick Santorum only took 18% of the vote in Pennsylvania. This is pretty much a useless statistic.

What part of Texas do you live in to not know papa Cruz was
a cuban and Teddy was born in Canada.
Thats it then, at least 57% of Texas dont like Cruz and want anyone but Cruz.
*************
Where did you get that number, 57%? I think if you’d look up Texas statewide voting records
you’d find that they typically range around mid 50% to mid 40% in favor of the GOP for the
last few national elections. Local districts can swing much higher either way depending upon
their demographics. The last democrat govenor ended 1995.
When cRUz was running for the Senate....and I volunteered for his campaign...I had no idea HE was STILL a Canadian citizen, nor did any of the folks I volunteered with. Never even talked about. We were just thrilled to get KBH out and keep Dewberry from taking her slot.
I don’t even recall the subject coming up, here.
Here’s a peek at some old threads, on the Dewhurst/Cruz race. Not even mentioned/discussed, AFAICT.....

People are using common core math in determining wins. A win is a win.
I guess it wasn’t a topic back then. I truly don’t remember. It was in 2013 when the DMN
raised the issue of his Canadian birth and citizenship. So maybe that was the first info.
Cruz:
1) Ivy League Lawyer, 2) Funded by billionaires, 3) Supported Corker bill, TPP, TPA, 500% increase in H1B visas (backed down only when grassroots went ballistic). I might still support Cruz (and certainly will if he is the nominee), but lets not fool ourselves about insider/outsider status. One final thought, every Republican candidate will finish their quest for the presidency richer than when they began, with the possible exception of Trump.
After +20 plus years of "New York City! Get a rope," I think if he was from anywhere else, he'd have won.
Noteworthy that Cruz won with fewer votes than any other "native son."
