Seriously, this is basically the scheme that Robert Heinlein had in “Starship Troopers” - you weren’t eligible to be a full citizen unless you contributed to society (and the big measurement there was service in the military). He was a big libertarian (small “L”), and wrote a LOT about what made for a strong, functioning society that could stand the test of time. Clearly, we haven’t been taking his advice.

Mussolini was the face of facism which is state control of private companies, and the theory that everyone is beholding to the state. The state will decide what is good for you and what is bad for you.
Socialism is the elimination of private companies, and the state not only controls everything, but dictates.
Pure Communism is that every thing is for everyone and everyone will perform and exceed yesterday’s effort for the good of mankind.
I think most democrat leaders are fascist. A lot of Republicans are too. But for the reasons for which they are accused.

Another ignoramus heard from. First of all Mussolini wasn't an enthusiastic supporter of Hitler's racial policies. And I don't believe Jews were sent to the death camps until Italy surrendered. At which time Mussolini was an irrelevant figurehead in the north, Germany exerting total control over what they controlled of Italy.
Mussolini was a classic fascist. Private ownership under close government control. Let's see, our government has now exerted extensive central control over the banking and health care industries, and is in the process of attempting to do what in can with energy and transportation. There's a fascist in the White House, a hopeful American Mussolini in Gere's terms
