Money and benefits do that to you.
LOL Not me! You couldn’t pay me enough to be that cold. I’m wimpy.
If it’s too hot, you can get wet. If it’s too cold, it’s just too bad.
If it's too hot and you live in a humid area, you are already wet and it doesn't help.
If it's too cold, we put on coats, hats and gloves and go out for a walk.
Anyway, non-barbarian countries should drop 'welcome' leaflets on these 'immigrants' before they arrive. They would show pictures of snow piled high, cars stuck in snow drifts on roads,
people with frostbite, people in a blizzard shivering trying to get warm around a stove, pictures of thermometers at 20 below, and immigrants getting back on planes destined for home sweet home.
Point taken, but (fresh, not salt) water does help.

LOL You go right ahead. You must be acclimated to a northern climate. While I wouldn’t call myself tolerant of Middle Eastern type heat, I am definitely not.
Good thinkin, Dobe. Let a few of those muzzies go home with a few true-life horror stories & that could check the flood right there. Gruesome pictures!
Years ago I knew a kid who went winter camping with his dad. Kid had new boots and thick socks, which squeezed his feet and cut off some circulation. He kept telling his dad his feet were going numb and dad kept saying, you'll be OK. Eventually, dad took the kid to the hospital. In a few days his toes turned black. They cut off the black part every few days. I lost track of how much he lost, but it really was gruesome.
Yeah, I grew up in the cold and lots of snow, down to zero most years, maxed out at -20 F a few times. Froze our back yard and I learned to skate. Built great snow forts and played on ice mountains on Lake Erie. I love snow and cold and running the snowblower. It really gets you pumping.
Well, it’s great that you love it, since that’s where you live. I can relate to that. The nature/ climate we each love is just different.
There is nothing better than appreciating the blessings you have.
I have a couple of friends who are absolutely WILD about Alaska. One of them has been a friend since I was 16 & he was 21. I learned real quick from his wife not to ‘’encourage’’ him when he gets to reminiscing. I think she’s afraid that one of these days, he will just pick up & go. Something about it . . .
That’s terrible about that man & his son. Sometimes, we learn some awfully painful lessons as we go along.
