RE: The land was never taken for Trump’s casino.

Sure, because the government lost its suit.

But Trump was happy to cheer the lawsuit.

And don’t forget that Trump similarly cheered the Supreme Court’s Kelo decision in Connecticut, which the conservative justices decided against but did not win.

I challenge you to show me where in my post I said Trump took the property.

He SUPPORTED government doing it and still does for reasons unrelated to the intent of the framers. And it just so happens that the kind of business that benefits is HIS KIND.

The federal power of eminent domain resides in, and is limited by, the Necessary and Proper Clause (Article I, Section 8, Clause 18).

By Trump’s lights, taking a property for casino and commercial purposes are part of what is “necessary and proper”, in OPPOSITION to Scalia and Thomas.

And it is suspicious that his business happens to be what is being disputed here.

This simply shows to what extent he views the limits of government .... which tells me in this case — VERY LITTLE.

“Is the taking of private property for casino or hotel development regardless of the private property owner’s consent the proper role of government to exercise its power?”

Does that qualify as your spreading the lie that Trump took the property?

Again, I ask you a question -— show me where I posted that Trump took someone’s property. Give me the post number.
