No one hates a reformer more than those who thrive under the existing corrupt system
Conservatism means being anti labor, pro gloBULL agenda, unFree Trade and giving into the NWO and the WTO. Which means about 1% of the population is conservative. These types of “conservative” are over represented on Free Republic. They are the fat man’s foot soldiers.
It is true that the slavery part of the analogy holds up, but at least the southern slavers were willing to fight for their country, plus they were customers, not slave traders. OTOH, the guys who got the Brits to blockade Boston harbor were globalists who had no problem with slavery on an even larger scale than anything dreamt of by any plantation owner.

Well stated. I agree. What has happened is a co-opting of traditional conservative economic and social values into an amorphous blob of liberal; socialism and globalism while we watched baseball and football games. Those of us that have true knowledge of the real beginning of conservatism are appalled at this theft of conservatism by Neo Cons, Rinos, Globalists and “free trade” liars. That has nothing to do with “conservatism” ZERO. But these propagandists want to define Trump as “ not conservative” Ask them if they will build the wall? Ask them if they will bring back the jobs that they destroyed? Ask them if they will not raise taxes on the middle class? These people are sickening.

I always wondered why ANYONE would WANT to be the POTUS. It's a no-win. The POTUS doesn't really have all the power one may think. He does have prestige...but all this bu**hu** for what? Not worth it in my eyes.
I INFINITELY prefer to be Nancy Nobody from Nowhere. It allows me to concentrate on what's really important: God and my own eternal soul.
