“So we are to ignore anything he said before he became a candidate?”
No, but you can watch the 1988 interview he had with Oprah Winfred and see that he has been extremely consistent on non-social issues.
“But even since he has been in the race: He was for deporting just the “bad” illegals and letting the other stay and get legal status”
Has NEVER said that, since his campaign started. Things change. He once stated that we should have a one-time tax on the rich. He says it was a pretty good idea at the time, but things have gotten so much worse that it would be useless. Google what our national debt was twenty years ago and read what was being said about it and how to actually pay it off.
“He wanted to allow the Syrian refugees into the country; then just a few days later, he want to ban ALL Muslims.”
That got started on the O’Reilly interview, when O’Reilly would not let him finish his thought.
“He likes Ben Carson; then Ben Carson is pathological”
He was only quoting Carson about himself. Still, I didn’t care for that.
“...then he likes Ben Carson again.”
Who can dislike Ben Carson?
“He likes Cruz a lot; then Cruz is mean and nasty and no one likes him; then he like Cruz and would consider him for VP.”
Almost identical, at times, to what Cruz has said about Trump.
By the way, this is a campaign. George H. W. Bush accused Reagan of trying to employ “voodoo economics”.
Absolutely and provably false. Back in June AFTER he announced his candidacy on June 16th, he said, "You have to give them a path, and you have to make it possible for them to succeed. You have to do that. But the bad ones, and there are bad ones, you have to get out, and you have to get them out fast." (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxZkg0rOWI4&feature=youtu.be&t=2m)
By the way, this is a campaign. George H. W. Bush accused Reagan of trying to employ "voodoo economics".
Fine, but you are the one accusing Cruz of flip-flopping and then explaining Trump's flip-flops as "campaigning". Which is it? Because sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. If Cruz is flip-flopping, so is Trump. If Trump is just "campaigning", then so is Cruz.
“Absolutely and provably false. Back in June AFTER he announced his candidacy on June 16th, he said...”
I watched that clip. He was saying that there were probably up to 30 million illegals in the United States, which was the money quote. Everyone has said “eleven million” for at least ten years. Fast talking probably a slip of the tongue, like he just did with Common Core.
“By the way, this is a campaign. George H. W. Bush accused Reagan of trying to employ “voodoo economics”.”
I used that statement of campaign rhetoric that occurs, not a flip-flop of Bush’s, not that I am defending Bush I by any means.
“Fine, but you are the one accusing Cruz of flip-flopping and then explaining Trump’s flip-flops as “campaigning”.”
There are core issues Trump has campaigned on since he entered the race he has not flip-flopped on. For example, he came out against illegal immigration and for building the wall, hard at first. He met with Senator Sessions and came out harder — started talking about deportation of all illegals.
The flip-flopping you hear me criticizing Cruz over is his votes primarily — TPA and Corker bill. That, along with who he accepts large donations from, betrays him as a globalist. You can’t get around it.
So you watched him say it, but you are just going to write it off as a "slip of the tongue"... Denial isn't just a river in Egypt, apparently.
“So you watched him say it, but you are just going to write it off as a “slip of the tongue”
What do you mean by “it”? The one last night was certainly a slip. Do you personally think you could jet all over the country, lose sleep, give speeches, meet the press, handle hostile questions, and come out without making a mistake? I know I could not. Somebody would have to call in a SWAT team if if were me.
In most campaigns, the candidates are usually given a heads-up as to which state they are in just before they take the microphone.
