Sen. Cruz saw what was happening at Disney and other companies and changed his mind. He and Jeff Sessions are co-sponsoring a bill to stop all H-1B visas.
Ok, I don’t want to just hammer Cruz but I have real questions. If Cruz doesn’t know the consequences of H1b visas, should he have ever supported it? If he didn’t understand the consequences of TPA, should he have ever supported it?
If he’s President is he going to start WWIII then reconsider?
Many people have had a moment where their previous view got shockingly clarified and they changed. Trump says he had such a moment on abortion. (Many other have as well.)

True but Trump wasn't proposing legislation or voting on legislation. I am saying as a Senator, even if he wasn't running for President, Cruz needs to put more time into these things up front.
In 2013, Sen. Cruz proposed amendments to the "Gang of 8" bill that would strengthen border security, expand green card opportunities, increase high-skilled "H1B" visas, prevent illegal aliens from receiving welfare benefits, and enforce the rule of law.
Nov.2015
Ted Cruz releases immigration plan: Suspend issuance of H-1B visas for six months, halt legal immigration if unemployment is high
Was he lying then or is he lying now.
It happens all the time, even with senators. I’m just glad he came to the right view.
FLIP-FLOP!!
I voted for it before I voted against it.
And you hold trump to that standard? So what about his support for abortion, gay marriage, fidelity to his marital vows, hiring of illegals, and every other conservative principle that he’s “changed his views on”?
You do want to have integrity and be consistent, right?
I guess Ted saw Trump's numbers, and decided to change positions. It's just like the TPP.
Although Ted voted for the TPA which makes it easy to pass the TPP by bypassing the 2/3 agreement required in the U.S. Constitution for any treaty.
Anyhow, Cruz was for H1-Bs, and only changed his position when he saw Trump was crushing him on this.
Here is link that Cruz was for the H1-B

You're absolutely right. Cruz held his 500% increase from 2013 until November 2015? Why? Maybe because 90 days earlier Trump published his immigration plan which included: "Raising the prevailing wage paid to H-1Bs will force companies to give these coveted entry - level jobs to the existing domestic pool of unemployed native and immigrant workers in the U.S., instead of flying in cheaper workers from overseas. This will improve the numb er of black, Hispanic and female workers in Silicon Valley who have been passed over in favor of the H-1B program."
And note Cruz' speech was in Orlando which is especially vested in Disney with a very large number of Disney employees.
There is also a lot of weasly lawyerese in Cruz's plan:
"I will SUSPEND the program for 180 days to investigate abuses." Well, what if he doesn't find any so-called abuses, or says he has fixed the abuses and reinstates his preferred level?
On suspending the plan for 180 days, which, incidentally, is one H1b application season, each year October to April. Why not a concrete statement about what he will or will not do. This, along the lines of Cruz's statement 'after we secure the border, we can have a conversation about what the American people want to do about illegal immigration".
"Halt any increases in legal immigration so long as American unemployment remains unacceptably high."
As far as "unacceptably high" unemployment, first that figure is so disputable it's laughable. Right now, it's 4.8. What's to keep Cruz from reinstating whatever restrictions he places on the program, once he deems unemployment at an acceptable rate?
This kind of stuff is what showed me what Cruz is all about. A lot of lawyer speech. Another: After he closes the border "I do not intend to support illegal immigration." Not I never will, or in no way will I ever ... I don't intend. Well, I don't "intend" to do a lot of things, but things happen. These are all the convenient back doors Cruz likes to construct with his words. Wiggle room, reptilian.
Ted is a panda bear on this issue
Goldman Sachs want this. Cheap Labor Express wants it. Zoellrick (Heidi's boss, World Bank pres, Goldman Sach pres who promoted Heidi from managing director to VP, one step below PARTNER.) SILICON VALLEY. And on and on.
If you are owned by donors, you must give them the H1B's they want. These are the HIGHPAID jobs taken from Americans by the hundreds of thousands and either outsourced to H1Bs or exported.
Ted SAYS one thing here; his DONORS and his WIFE say another, are on the OTHER side of the issue Ted talks about.
PS Cruz in his proposal wanted NO CAP on H1B visas for China, Mexico and India.
The 500% number was when Cruz proposed an increase from 65,000 H1B visas to 325,000. THEN the Senate Judiciary approved 180,000. At THAT point Cruz proposed 500,000 additional H1B visas on top of that. Folks this isn’t lettuce pickers. These are the jobs college students are qualified for, and middle aged Americans booted out by their corporation to be replaced by Indians. (Then required to TRAIN the Indian or else lose their severance AND PENSION.)
I feel like I've joined the Democrat party with this guy, getting whiplash from policy changes.
Cruz posted his bill on Nov 12, 2015 at a speech in Orlando, which was particularly incensed about the Disney layoffs. Only thing, Bill Nelson had called for the same kind of investigation six months earlier, June of 2015:
Senator Bill Nelson of Florida has urged that the Department of Homeland Security investigate the H-1B Visa program that allows U.S. employers to temporarily employ foreign workers in specialty occupations after media reports highlighted claims that Walt Disney World used the program to replace 250 American workers with Indian workers who were brought to the U.S. to take their jobs.

Ted Cruz, if you don't copyright it, he'll steal it from you and call it his own.
