He was such a filthy hack G.W. Bush helped run him out of town.
I was pretty secure, not quite smug, in my support of Cruz until today.
Trump's a 60's liberal at heart, I think ("New York values", gay-friendly and pro-abort and all that), Rubio's a GOP-E shill (did someone mention Mitch McConnell and Trent Lott?), and now ... now it turns out Cruz is all for adding a VAT.
The VAT would totally replace corporate income taxes, something the Chamber has been foaming at the mouth to get since the 80's, when superlobbyist Charls L. Walker was using his Treasury undersecretary job to agitate fulltime for a VAT and repeal of corporate taxes.
The deal is, their tax load comes directly to you. Business lobbytoads will tell you, we all pay their taxes anyway ..... but it's also true that you don't pay their taxes unless you voluntarily buy their product. You don't pay Wheelabrator's taxes until you buy a Wheelabrator product. But with a VAT in place, you will .... even when you're buying dog food to live on.
Feel the burn yet? This is just so incredibly disappointing. If Ted Cruz is going to go for a VAT (and of course it'll be piled on top of our income taxes, by the magical legerdemain of Congress and the House of Lobbyists, including Lott), then of course he'll roll over on immigration, too, which some people here in FR have suggested he would.
So we're screwed. Everybody in the GOP, even Cruz, wants to help the Chamber cut our throats, crushing wages while they roll business taxes to our backs, while they exhibit the most tender solicitude for the Great Vampire Squid of Wall Street.
I’ll bet Cruz is really really really concerned about not having Lott’s approval. Hey Trent, head back into your cave. Whoever you are lobbying for will take a big hit if Cruz is elected and no one will want to hire an albatross.
Interesting. Why does Chris McDaniel speak highly of Ted Cruz?
Thank you for busting ObamahatesPAcoal. I knew he was fudging the truth.
You’d be surprised how much the Mississippi people still admire their Trent.
