“How can that be “unscientific”? “

Because it only polls respondents and you can vote more than once even if under different account names. That is not scientific or reliable.

Go ahead, keep living in your dream world in which everybody is a Trump supporter, but even judging on the threads, I see the same Trump supporters over and over, but a diverse group of Cruz supporters.

And to answer your earlier question, I did not know of the poll, which also shows that it probably over samples Trump supporters. You would need to compare the sample size to the number of FR members to judge accuracy. Just because Trump supporters are more vocal and scream louder does NOT mean they are in the majority. It only means they took a page out of the liberal handbook.

“it is laughable that you would claim that you have taken the high road.”

Apparently, you did NOT read my post. I never said that I took the high ground. I DID say that I never start it, but if someone else starts it then I do give as good as I get.

“you are using this forum to lash out at others for the sake of your mental health.”

I am not using this forum to lash out at anyone. You really should take time to read all of my posts before you make false accusations. In EVERY case, I will make a point or post a comment in a civil manner, but then it never fails that a Trump supporter will respond by calling names or making false accusations (much like you’ve done), in which case, I will respond in kind.

Perhaps, if Trump supporters could gracefully agree to disagree or at least stay focused on the issues and refrain from the name calling and condescending, degrading, and negative comments then this forum would be much more pleasant for all of us.

I do admire your persistence even when you are stuck defending a weak position. I apologize for any remarks that I have made which were “condescending, degrading, and negative”. I have obviously hurt your feelings and I am sorry. I will read through the posts made to you and try to figure out where I went off track.

“I do admire your persistence even when you are stuck defending a weak position.”

So you say...I think anyone defending Trump has a pretty weak position given his liberal tendencies and his support of liberal agendas...the same agendas that are ruining our country.

“I have obviously hurt your feelings and I am sorry.”

Don’t worry, you haven’t hurt my feelings at all, but I will defend myself and my views. If your apology is sincere, and I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume it is, then I accept. We may not always agree, but we should always be civil to each other. Once we lose that civility and get into the my-way-or-the-highway mode and refuse to acknowledge or accept other views without ridicule then we become no different than the libs we are fighting against.

I have been here long enough to never hold any grudges over anything even if things get a little colorful. So thank you for accepting my apology for letting things get out of hand. It is sincere.

All I was trying to do to start with was correct your statement that Trump underperformed the polls in Iowa by 17% and use a little humor. I am still not aware of any polls that came out before the caucus that showed Trump ahead of Cruz by more than a few percent. Even when I saw Trump pressed before the caucus, I do not remember him saying that he was going to win Iowa... just that he was encouraged by the polls and was very hopeful.

My best friend since grade school who is still my best buddy feels as passionate about Cruz as you do. And it was only after lengthy deliberation and Sarah Palin’s endorsement that I went all in for Trump. I still have my reservations, but I like that he tells us what he thinks when he thinks it regardless of the consequences. To me that is refreshing compared to most other politicians. So I really do respect your passion, knowledge and persistence.

“I like that he tells us what he thinks”

I will agree with you that I do like what Trump has to say and, if nothing else, he is making some issues more prominent.

My biggest issue with Trump is his past positions and some of his current positions. I worry that if elected, he will betray us like so many others have. I hope not, but we never know anymore. I would be happier if he would clearly address his sudden conversion on so many issues, but it seems like he tip toes around some of those things a lot. For instance, he wants to shrink the government, but supports the government subsidies for ethanol, which is a traditional big government position. I would like him to acknowledge the contradiction and explain how he can reconcile both positions. Otherwise, it makes him seem like he is pandering or flimsy on the issues, which then brings back the concerns about so many of his recent policy changes. He might win more converts if he did that in his tweets and interviews and laid off of the personal attacks and silly antics. He should save that ammo for the general election. Just my humble opinion though.

I agree with you on that. I continue to be nervous about many of his past positions.
