Mony Quote: “And let’s not forget that Trump’s mother was an immigrant from Scotland. If the Donald wants to make flimsy, poorly thought out cases against Cruz based on this issue, then we could basically do the same against him.”
It’s a distraction.
It’s distracting from policy issues.
It would have been a distraction for Obama except that Democrats have the full power of the MSM on their side.
Cruz should have tried to clear this up. I’m sure he realized there was gonna be stink about it. If he’s the nominee, the MSM will suddenly become experts on citizenship for the November election.
Huh? Trump was born in New York.
"Red State" has been consistently wrong about every thing they have published on the topic, including this bit of nonsense.
Trump was born in Queens New York and his mother was a US citizen, as was his father. Cruz was born in Canada and his mother was a us citizen but his dad was not a us citizen, he was from Cuba. So if Cruz is magically American based on his mother’s citizenship is he a magical Cuban citizen too?
Yes his mother was born in Scotland but became a naturalized American citizen before Donald was born and he was born here, in the USA by two American citizens.
There is no such thing as being a “citizen” of a communist dictatorship. If you are fleeing from a Communist dictorship you are fleeing from a county-sized prison camp...you are fleeing from Communist slavery.
To a foreigner.
And this is crux: Trump cannot run on his record.
Liberals are starting on Trump already:
Trump vs Trump

TDS amuses me. Cruz is in no way, shape or form a NBC and he knows it.
Why won’t Trump release his birth certificate, mother’s naturalization papers, and school records.
The smell of desperation permeates everything.
If you don’t take it out of context he said:
The Texas senator “got really pummeled,” Trump said. He later joked that Cruz, who Trump has argued is not qualified to be president because he was born in Canada, was “an anchor baby in Canada.”
Why are you so ignorant on the Constitution? Obviously if your parent is an American, you are a citizen at birth. Natural-born subjects in Britain before the U.S. was founded included children born to parents who were outside of Britain at the time. The founders knew the definition of the word and you can't change it after the fact like a liberal trying to rewrite the meaning of the Constitution to fit in abortion rights.
“So if Cruz is magically American based on his motherâs citizenship is he a magical Cuban citizen too?”
That’s a good question. Probably depends on Cuban law...
BTW, the way I interpreted the anchor baby remark was a Canadian anchor baby.
Go Red Star!
