The first Fox debate was worse than any I recall on any other network in previous election years. The moderators all grinning like fools and asking many inane questions. Pretty bad when it made me long for the days when Russert, Jennings, Rather, Brokaw, and all moderated.
Fox made the circus.
It’s a private business. What private business owes allegiance to anyone but shareholders?
Not arguing that this was a good business decision but anyone who thinks ANY corporation has some pro-American agenda ... well ... wanna buy a bridge?
She is popular, highly paid, and capable....her methods are indeed a little brusque but that’s one reason people like her. Ailes was right, he doesn’t need participants determining moderators. Trump is being Trump, obnoxious and arrogant......sometimes it works, I don’t think that this is one of those times.
In fact, Fox News will still be covering Trump's event, even while the cable channel's own debate goes on. A spokesperson confirmed that the network's usual Trump reporter and campaign embed will cover the event
Click through to the Politico article - all the FoxNews personalities were working off the same script.
But it is her duty to pick the next president of The United States.
I choose Trump over Megyn Kelly.
But we can have TV networks dictating who moderates debates? That's been one of the biggest failures of Republican party leadership. They should have long ago established that the party would pick moderators and then bid coverage out to interested networks.
Trump has most likely set things up so the cowardly GOP leadership can get that deal in the future, no thanks to cowardly GOP leadership.
There's nowhere NEAR that kind of influence in that decision....this is the Iowa caucus and the presidency won't be decided here or in the near future.....the election is 11 months away
How did Carly Fiorina invite the attack?
Most people thought it was great and the audience was HUGE, they are called viewers and customers for your sponsors.
BS. Fox's attempts to damage Trump went far beyond the first debate. Kelly has used her show every week since to try and damage him by constantly having guests critical of Trump, up to and including that gaggle of folks who wrote for that National Review issue designed to damage Trump.
And Fox spent countless hours repeating everything they thought might damage him, from his announcement speech, to the McCain remarks and anything else he said they thought would damage him.
But it all backfired as most viewers saw right through their phony and dishonest coverage of Trump.
Trump is justified many times over in boycotting Fox.
I’ll never forgive that very first “raise your hand if” question Bret Baier asked. After nearly 7 years of Obama that debate was a huge milestone in selecting a new president. Right off the bat Bayer injects himself into the process in a blatant attempt to isolate Trump. That question was a pure power play (I’m the teacher, you are the students, raise your hand answer my question). Totally inappropriate. Thankfully that type of question has been banned.
Not kidding at all. The very first words out of Megyn Kelly’s smart-ass mouth on her very first “Kelly File” to her very first guest were:
“How does it feel to be the most hated man America?”
She said that to none another than Ted Cruz. Megyn Kelly is no journalist, no conservative, and is in the same class of “debate moderator” as one Candy Crowley.
To hell with Megyn Kelly and to hell with Fox News. And to hell with the many Megyn/FNC worshippers here on FR.
I think it's the #1 cable network in the country....and of you haven't watched it in years, why do you refer to Megan as a POS???
I’m sure snarly Carly said something; I watched her pile on to Trump on the narrative Erick Erickson started about seeing blood coming out of whatever.
The comment on her appearance was said in confidence, so you can’t include that in the mix.
Roger Ailes and Megyn Kelly reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock and Janet Leigh. It’s creepy.
In the same way I can know what Penthouse magazine is about without actually reading the magazine myself.
