Gee, should they ask the Congress if it's OK?
Or is that just stuff they did in the olden days?

Syria is already Muslim. They won't go Isis because it would KILL all the tourism to Damascus.
.
.
We went to Damascus and there I bought TWO "damask" tablecloths. SUCH beautiful embroidery. I also got VERY sick there but it WAS my own fault. :o(

I think I recall Congress informing Obunghole that the original Iraq authorization for using military force is valid against ISIS. I may be mistaken but I think I read that so ewhere back in 2013.

My God Obama is a naive dangerous idiot. This is absolute idiocy. YOU CAN NOT COMPROMISE WITH AN ENEMY THAT DECAPITATES MEN, BURIES CHILDREN ALIVE, AND BURNS CAPTORS IN CAGES. You must destroy them. Kill every one of them until the don’t exist and no one dare join. You don’t find a political solution with a political entity who has death as their number one demand.

Nay.
Obama said he presumed it to be authorization and Congress said nothing.
But, McConnell has introduced a resolution with specific authorization...and no boundaries.
They could use it to invade Syria and go to war with Russia if it passes.

Is that a problem for the US Taxpayer to bear? How about the guys that have to go over there with their hands tied behind their backs, waiting for an IED?
What is the US Strategic interest?

the US interest is that aggression unchecked only begets more aggression.
This is a struggle that is not new, it was only suppressed by the islamic worlds abject failure during the age of the industrial revolution through the the cold war. Make no mistake ISIS is the seed from which a world war can spring.
Isolationism was a failure for every one that has used it.

I recommend we wait until they show the ability to overthrow a modern state. And I don't think they can.
It's 30-50,000 men, a large gang really.
Now, if they were able to overthrow Turkey they might warrant intervention. Otherwise it's an Arab problem. Or Persian.

What is the US Strategic interest? Mostly my frustration was aimed at that pathetic Kerry. But also pointing out that Assad, as awful as he is, simply can't find a political solution to these savages. In a perfect world our interest would be killing them to prevent them from coming in to the country. Seeing how the world wide progressives are inviting them I just get so wrapped up in frustration This is about the only place I can rant. If I were president I would make the case that there is a moral interest in protecting the Yazidis, Kurds, and Christians that are being slaughtered by these sub human ISIS scumbags. It is my belief that ISIS is the bud that will bring about something so horrible that we have not seen since WW2. But we have Obama. Good God what have the idiots that voted for that cretin wrought upon the world. Regards.

I noticed that too. Since when does a VP announce a military action.
Obama: Hey, Biden needs to look presidential. Give him something to do.

Given that the Turks have committed to destroying ISIS, the Kurds are obviously about to be bombed into oblivion.
