Agreed. But if there is a joint event and Ted is on stage with him - that might be a bit of political miscalculation.
Glenn Beck does not cancel out Sarah Palin. He just makes Ted look even more extreme that he is.
Cruz supporters on here say the same thing:
"I remember 1932 Germany. Too late......they got what they voted for..." -- annieokie
Years ago I had lunch with Glenn Beck and a few others. During the normal chit chat I asked Beck if he had found the opportunity to see Band of Brothers yet seeing that it had been out for a year or so at that point. He didn’t know what I was referring to so I explained it was an HBO film Co-Produced by Stephen Spielberg and Tom Hanks, based on a Stephen Ambrose book about Airborne Units in World War Two.
He told me he hadn’t seen it, and I concluded he was an asshole!
The ANGRY POPULACE is the part Trump supporters WANT to gloss over.... The scenes of the 1932 Germany election can be morphed into a Trump rally....
The populace is Angry and will accept whoever is the loudest, which deadens the ears to ear or eyes to see, just the need to be with the "IN" crowd.
No one is saying he is Hitler,,,,,,but the breathless adoration of Trump is the same, and that is scary.
I’m a Cruz guy. I even like Beck. But comparing Trump to Hitler is stupid. It robs anything else you have to say of any credibility. Please stop it.
Let’s go back to Nixon, with the EPA, and The Patriot Act. If Clinton had proposed The Patriot Act people would have marched in the streets. Under W it went through. What I mean is that we have lost a lot of Liberty in the last 50 years, and what we don’t lose to one side against our objection, we lose to the other with our blessings. The end result is the same. We become less free.
bump
The Nazis were routed in the last free election in Germany, even after Hitler was appointed Chancellor. But Hitler worked behind the scenes and engineered a coup.
it is not how Hitler was put into office,, Hitler was put into the office of Chancellor by Hindenburg to placate the Nazis..
Just the same, it is very clear that Trump apparently believes that he must deceive people in order to convince them to support him, and THAT means that Trump is a bad call, a bad risk, a loser even if he wins. It is a fact entirely separate from Beck or Cruz.
Palin got me to vote for a wrong guy once, in 2008, the FIRST TIME in more than 30 years that I, a lifelong straight Republican ticket voter, was tempted to skip a Republican on the ballot, let alone one a the top of the ticket.
Still, I held my nose and voted for a WRONG guy because I was willing to risk that he'd possibly implode in office and Palin would step in. Otherwise, I'd have voted third party or done what my mother, after MORE THAN 60 YEARS OF VOTING STRAIGHT REPUBLICAN TICKET and being an active Republican in local groups, did for the first time in her life in 2012 (and I made the same choice): simply declined to vote for anyone at the top of the ticket because the Republican was an amoral functional leftist, and only fools vote for amoral functional leftists.
Palin got me to vote for the wrong guy only once. That she backs the wrong presidential candidate AGAIN in 2016, is apparently par for the course, to my surprise.
I remember 1932 Germany. Too late......they got what they voted for but did not want. Too late.
I remember 2008/2012....same/same......we are living with the monster they hoisted on us........
In general, I agree. W totally made a mess of the support he had, nationally and internationally. However, anyone teaming up with Beck these days obviously hasn’t been paying attention to how unhinged he has become. I thought he was having folks do good research but couldn’t figure out why he couldn’t figure out the Kolob fraud.
As he’s gone more-rapidly downhill the last few years (his anti-traditional marriage ‘big tent GOP’ but one example) I steer far away.
How about avoiding making him the face of it?
“Beck is right, read what he said, Beck is not calling Trump, Hitler, but the potential is there when you combine ultra nationalism with an anger populous.”
1. angry populous - you must have not been around in 1980.
2. Beck mentioned Trump and Hitler in the same breath. In this world, everyone knows what that means. He is calling Trump, Hitler. There are no degrees of gradation when it comes to Hitler.
Beck’s show has been unlistenable for years. I’m so glad that the western PA area has an alternative radio station to listen to, AM 1250 The Answer.
I think this election is about the American people wanting a different choice than they were being offered. Early on this was going to be a Bush/Clinton choice. Donald got in and everything went topsy turvy.
Ted is not offering much more than a rehash of Goldwater. I keep waiting for “extremism in defense of liberty is no vice” to come out of his mouth.
Trump is right. He had his chance and he blew it. his political career is over.
Very well done, if you have a chance to catch it, it's most enjoyable.
Anyone who'd be seen near him has defective judgment.
