As a gift, Steve cut test lacquers of the Doobie Brothers “Minute by Minute” LP.

Yikes, "Minute by Minute". Are you sure that was intended as a gift? :-)

“I start off every walk of mine (5+ miles) to Siberian Khatru (live version). Brings back memories ...”

Your post brought back a memory for me...

1975 Roosevelt Stadium, Jersey City. Opening number for the Yes concert was Siberian Khatru. As the first notes sounded, everyone stood up (festival seating). I started my walk (to the front of the stage). One of the best shows I ever saw.

Made in Japan - the best live album of all time. I still listen to Ian Gillan on “Child in Time” and shake my head. Blackmore’s solo parts on “Strange Kind of Woman” are amazing.

One of these years, Yes will make it to the RNR HOF.

Not to repeat myself, but I had a great conversation with Rick Keller, Frankie Valli's sax player. I met him NY Eve after their concert at Winstar. It started when I saw several band members at a bar, my wife, son, and I were walking back to our room to change.

My son was terrified when I went over to them to thank them for a great show. I decided to grab a beer, and toasted them in German. Turned out that Rick lived in Germany for nearly 20 years.

He told me about a few of the artists he worked with, to include Bill Bruford. It was a great way to break in the New Year.

What’s even more cool is that my daughters went out and bought me that album for my birthday a few months before their own graduation. They liked the personal story behind it too.

Sad. Rip. I saw Eagles videos a few days ago. First the 94 reunion then the 2003 concert in Australia and I also found the appearance on The Midnight Special. I was a big fan of The Eagles and Glenn Frye. It is ashame The infighting that went on with The Eagles that lead Bernie Leadon and Don Fender to quit in the 70s and again in 2000. I will give prayers to the Glenn Frye family and The Eagles.

Great choice. I'd have it in second place behind The Who ... Live at Leeds.

You remind me of me Doc. I catch myself telling people how my wife likes all kinds of music, a wide variety. Me, I only like the good stuff.

More trivia: Don Felder was Tom Petty's guitar teacher in Florida.

Thanks. I've seen a few Felder interviews. Meisner and Schmidt have a lot of history also. Both are former Poco members with Schmidt replacing him in both bands. Frey and Meisner had issues. It came to a head I think in Knoxville, TN at a concert. Meisner had a bad cold or sinus infection and could barely sing. Frey was insisting that he still sing the high parts of Take it to the limit. A bad idea as it can do lasting damage.

I saw them I think in 1978 or 79 in Norfolk. A buddy on ship had two floor seats tickets and we went. Walsh had already joined as had Felder I do remember that much. The tour cities I've found say March 1977. Impossible for it to be that one the guy I knew had not reported to the ship yet. But I know it was either 78 or 79 and the venue was either Norfolk or Hampton, VA. Great Concert. So was Bob Seger in 1984 I think floor seats again and close :>} A friend of my wife worked for a company that got tickets early always good seats.
