[Jumping the gun. He’s supposed to do this AFTER Cruz is elected, so the inauguration gets put off indefinitely and Obama can ride out some O.T.]

Trump definately took the wind out of their sails!
Cruz should be on his knees thanking Trump from saving him from even further embarrassment.

Even Trump admitted to broaching the subject because Cruz was moving up.

I imagine things would be different if Trump, being as popular as he is now, would've simply said the same thing about Cruz's eligibility that he said last September.

Anyone who thinks the supreme court is going to intervene in this is out of their minds. Not during an election year. The court is every bit as political as every other arm of our feral government. This is something they wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole.

FRiend dragnet, you're the only guy who really has the right idea of the mentality of the people laughing about Trump's so-called "victories" -- you keep posting the video of it. Ol' Wacky Jack laughing maniacally -- the perfect poster boy for Trump Fans.

“The hyenas in either party will never drop this until someone they deem an authority rules on it”

True, but it will be old and boring. Like Hillary and Benghazi, like emails. problems don’t need to be solved, they just need to get old.
This is deliberate, so it isn’t the topic in October.

There are some instances where the USSC does have original jurisdiction but I'm not sure what they are or whether this matter would rise to that level.

In general, SCOTUS has original jurisdiction in cases where one states sues another, or when a foreign government is suing one of the states. Article 3 says:

"In all cases affecting ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, and those in which a state shall be party, the Supreme Court shall have original jurisdiction. In all the other cases before mentioned, the Supreme Court shall have appellate jurisdiction, both as to law and fact, with such exceptions, and under such regulations as the Congress shall make."

The SCOTUS takes few expedited cases. In Gore vs Bush the only reason they got involved at all was for fear of absolute chaos.

They won’t touch this with a 10 foot poll, even if they want to (which they likely don’t).

Do Trump’s supporters honestly believe that Trump was raising this issue to help a brother out?

So where does that leave us when the Ninth Circus declares Ted to be a Canadian?

“Has the SCOTUS ever taken a case without it moving through the court system?”

Yes, they have the ability to claim “original jurisdiction” over certain types of cases (disputes between states, for example). They don’t always exercise it, but do use that power fairly regularly.

Democrat Congressman Grayson in Florida brought this up Months ago, long before Trump said a word about it.

Nice try. Trump first brought up the birther issue back in March.

And when Trump and his allies lose this case some will abandon him for being wrong.

I’m a solid Cruz guy and I saw this coming a year ago. I almost got zotted for saying it too.

How times change.
