Tell me about it! I remember once during jury duty, we had to explain to a Korean jury member what the 5th amendment was. Then he rejected it! We bring in people who have no interest in America - only what they can get out of it.
Great point. I'm one of the presenters at my son's middle school for Career Day. Most of my presentation is not on the accounting field, but on the value of a great education, and the necessity of knowing history.
One simply can't be a good citizen without more than a rudimentary knowledge of our history. I'm using the slide from Animal House for the lead-in, "was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?"
My son knows his history, but has yet to see Animal House. He thought it was hilarious.
But she naturalized four years before he was born.

Haley was a tea party darling for her first term. Slightly less before she was reelected. Then once she was reelected, the ugly side came out. She has her eye on a national office and it is a good thing, she could not get elected dog catcher here in SC now. She had completely turned her back on the people who put her into office and nothing peeves SC conservatives more
Does this mean that she is ‘an anchor baby’ ????
Ar3e they both anchor babies???
Are they both anchor babies???
Maybe Governor Haley should spend time watching â America: The Story of usâ and the series on the US presidents
She’s to busy cheating on her husband..but I guess she could watch TV while her lover is in the shower..
Nikki Haley has in addition many negatives. For sure she will oppose any preservation of American history. We are a new nation, and I have been supporting preservation of Civil War battle fields and other sites of historical significance - both of South and North as well as of other times. Nikki's attack on a Northern Virginia battle flag was outrageous. It showed she has no love for this country and its history. Not unusual for children of parents from non-Western countries.
I’ve always felt that banishing the Confederate flag and other symbols from the public square because some white thug killed some black people makes about as much sense as banning the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday because some black thug killed some white people.
It reminds me of the Bolsheviks. After the Russian Civil War, even the possession of a White Army battle flag led to a death sentence.
Yep. Not a good idea to push them too far.
Historically speaking, South Carolinians have been good at startin' sumthin' when the moment called for it.
It'd be pretty stupid to "misunderestimate" them now.
she said, angrily.
And you iz the racist just for pointing this out :->
I, too, am into both Civil War and Revolutionary War battlefields, cemeteries and historical sites preservation.
I'm very much against eliminating the Civil War Battle Flag.
I wouldn't think of banishing it any more than I am against tearing down slave quarters on Martha and George Washington's home; the same for the Alamo, in case Mexicans living in the United States decide they are offended at Americans remembering their ancestors being slaughtered by Mexican General Santana!
All is our history and no group, no matter how well intended, should have the right to pretend any different.
If it's OK for a Mexican to drive around with a Mexican flag on his car, the Irish to fly the Irish flag in their homes, cars and businesses, then it certainly is OK for the South or Southern loving people to display the Civil War flag wherever they wish, be they have it on buildings, on museums, or on their personal property!
Exactly. It is part of our history. That is what makes Nikki Haley so disgusting. She wants to destroy our history and limit choice. Several have commented her gloating and smirking regarding the flag and also the abnormal glint in her eyes.
I happen to know a number of people coming from foreign countries, legally, attending seminaries. Some with wives and if they give birth, not one of these couples deems their children to be Americans, as they plan to return to their host countries, as in their agreement to get a Visa.
BTW, I think only religious colleges and seminaries are held to their promises to not allow their spouse to work and to return home after your education ends!
Bzzzzztttt! Authoress Juana Summers needs to read a book or buy a clue here. Haley's as Caucasian as Jimmy Carter and Jack Kennedy.
Her ancestry from northern India belongs to a far-flung eastern branch of the Yamnaya Culture community that stretched, when the culture broke up linguistically about 2200 BC, from the Baltic Sea to the foothills of the Pamirs in central Asia. Her Indo-Iranian ancestors were neighbors and enemies of a people called in the Vedic hymns "Danawo", which it doesn't take a degree in rocket science to realize are the "Danawoi" of Homer, i.e. Danaan Greeks who brought the Greek language to Hellas in the 19th century BC. Their languages shared many correspondences of grammar, vocabulary, and phonology, a resemblance that was recognized instantly by Greek-educated Portuguese Catholic missionaries who went out to India in the 16th century (other Catholics having lived there since the time of Doubting Thomas, who traditionally missionized southern India). That recognition was the beginning of philology and modern linguistics.
So no, Nikki Haley is not "colored", she's Caucasian. Or, if you prefer, Indo-European.
Now quit bagging on our flag and our history, Nikki, you opportunistic ingrate.
Craziness. I had not heard that until after this original discussion. To be fair, I don't see how anyone can complain about someone born in America to one American parent. That said, it's still amazing to me that this field and the previous two are all filled with unusual scenarios...from Obama not producing a BC for several years to McCain born in Panama to some questions about Romney's Mexican roots and now this field.
Of course no one is talking yet about Bernie's eligibility, having been born on Mars. That's an issue yet to come.
LOL!
