Gutless might be too strong a word to describe all of the German men whose wives/girlfriends were victimized.
Let's say a couple went out to New Year's Eve dinner, was walking around afterwards, and was then set upon by a pack of a dozen young Islamic rapist thugs with nothing to lose.

The man in that type of scenario may have done his very best. It would be difficult for that hypothetical man if he is unarmed, in condition white, and certainly unprepared for a 12-on-1 fight. Even worse that his own darn government sees the refugee thugs as a protected class of very special people.

It is a horrible situation over there.
The decent people of Germany are in a very tough spot. :-(
