I guess I like Christmas songs which are either secular or Scriptural, but the cross-over ones drive me nuts. A little drummer boy was at the manger?
And the three wise men? Not at the manger. Visited Jesus as a “child” as his “home”. Their journey from Point A to Point B would’ve taken about two years.

A Rump-a-pump pum to you too. Did I,by any chance, misinterpret your earlier post to me?

Hey, don’t throw shade at the little drummer boy! He’s doing the best he can, sheesh.

Nobody but nobody mentioned... (well, I’ve read most of these)
That Hawaiian Christmas song, it’s not great, it’s okay.

That’s a nice “Noel”, Airsupply does a good version too.

Little Drummer Boy, I first heard that as a kid and you know, I’ve heard it said before in another forum, folks didn’t like it but I’ll be among those voting for it as a good-great song.

Little Drummer Boy is originally a Czech Christmas song or something like that, one has to remember the roots and where it came from.

"'The Christmas Shoes'"
The kid and his sales clerk mom made a fortune that night suckering shoe store customers buying clearance shoes and then reselling them over and over.

No, not a bass player. I've always been annoyed primarily by the trumpets, and the vocals/lyrics. It also doesn't help that, during my couple of Christmas seasons working as a waiter, I was subjected to that song dozens of times per day, for close to two months straight.
In any case, I am apparently outnumbered here by those of you who love the song. To each his/her own.
Merry Christmas!

In a similar vein, I find Bruce Springsteen’s version of “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” annoying.

At least give The Waitresses credit for creating a rap which is more clever and entertaining than 99.9999% of the output of actual rap “artists.”

12 Days of Christmas. I can only stand Relient K’s fast and furious version and Jeff Foxworthy’s redneck version (It just don’t seem like Christmas if you haven’t been to the penitentiary to visit your mama).
For those on this list....I only have a problem with Christmas Shoes. I generally like Newsong’s music, and Christmas Shoes was a hit when it first came out, but it got over saturated quickly. I never saw the movie or read the book. I now turn the radio off if it is played.

I thought it was “Grandma got run over by a reindeer,” or is there still another bad song?

Mine is Run, Run, Rudolph. I prefer Keith Richard s version to the Chuck Berry original, but they re both good.Best version? Dave Edmund's

In a similar vein, I find Bruce Springsteenâs version of âSanta Claus is Coming to Townâ annoying.Oh, I can definitely do without that one, too. His voice sounds so strained and awful, and it's not exactly a compelling song to start with.
