Don't know about Tarantino. I recently rewatched Reservoir Dogs and got the distinct impression that I was watching a movie ... That was about other movies. Django Unchained completely turned me off. I thought he was just making a joke on any viewer. This new one I am completely indifferent to.

Just what we need. A ‘thoughtful’ Western.

same here, Django was garbage.

Check out Leonardo in The Revenant, now that is a great film! He should win an oscar for that one. Bone Tomahawk is great too, Kurt Russel western meets horror.

On my list of to-see movies, though not at the top.

but I really wanted to see Christoph Waltz, who I just love.

Yeah, no question Waltz was the only part of the movie that worked. He was fantastic, and he showed just how far beyond Foxx in talent he is in every scene of that film. Too bad, too, because after "Ray" and "Collateral," I was really enjoying Foxx's work. Then "Django" was inflicted on us...

I love Tarantino’s movies even though he’s an utterly insane, complete lunatic, barking moonbat jackass.

Funny the Left thinks he's genius and Trmp is the moonbat - I guess it all lies with your politics.

I’m not sure I’d go that far against him, I generally do not like to do that sort of thing, but I see someone up thread has seen the film and did not give it good reviews at all, so that is kind of troubling.

According to sources it has already been downloaded close to a million times. Add to that people who share it privately with their friends and the Tarantino/Weinstein group has taken a big hit, especially since it wasn't supposed to be a blockbuster in the first place.

BTW, they have imbedded information in every screener they send out and the Hateful Eight screener has been traced to a high executive at a rival studio.

The group that released the screener to the Internet claims to have 39 more that they will release over the Holiday period. Creed, The Revenant, Concussion and Joy have already been released in addition to the Hateful Eight. This sort of thing happens every year when studios start sending out screeners to Academy members for award consideration.

There is no other director, alive or dead, AFAIK that compares to Tarantino. Some of his stuff kinda reminds me of the director of those old Italian westerns. Name escapes me now.

You have to remember to watch with a sense of humor. Even the horrible, bloody, senselessly(seemingly) violent stuff.

I do enjoy most of his films. Several have said Inglorious Bastards was one of his best. I’ve watched it, most of it anyway, 3 times and I just can’t like that one. Same with this movie. Some will love it, some hate it.

“My Favorite Year” was as close to perfect as a movie gets IMO.
