Last spring I attended a Christian conference featuring speakers from a Biblical think tank affiliated with Cambridge University. They expressed a lot of concern about the post-modern influence in society. Their line of reasoning was similar to the thinking from DA Carson. (Carson’s “The Gagging of God” is a little dated, but a really good read.)

Some of us were surprised that they did not even mention Muslims. We asked them why they didn’t bring it up. They responded that secular Europe would wake up and clean it up. They didn’t say it explicitly, but I think they meant that European liberals were quite able to throw aside their “tolerance” stance and turn really nasty, if needed.
