“In other words, just saying you believe, or believing doesnât cut it. In other words, you have to do something, and that doesnât put me on the same level as Mother Teresa either.”
Either you have saving faith or you don’t. If you have saving faith, your life will produce fruit (good works).
Let’s hope Teresa had saving faith and is now in the presence of God.
I said you sounded pert and smug.
You will notice there’s no “mind-reading” involved in that statement. How you sound has nothing to do with what’s going on in your mind.
In other words, you made a false accusation, pretending I broke some “rule.”
Arthur, I did not specify you. Apparently you self-identified as meeting the criteria.
So, your sending it to ME implies NOTHING?
Nice try, Pert and Smug.
I'm not a subscriber to any religion and there are many comments on this sight which reinforce my stance.
With that being said, the only individual who represents his church that I listen to is Father Johnathan Morris on the FOX channel.
He explained the Sainthood being given to Mother Theresa in this way:
Only GOD can create miracles
Only God creates Saints....
What Mother Theresa was given was a symbolic honor by the Catholic Church for her dedication to humanity.....not because she performed miracles.
And I'm OK with that........
“If she is a believer in Christ she is already a saint....as are all believers.”
Seems some people think man can nominate someone to be closer to God than the rest of us. Seems to violate the First Commandment.
“Nice try, Pert and Smug. “
While you make the thread personal, I will just wish you a very merry Christmas!
“Only God creates Saints....”
“What Mother Theresa was given was a symbolic honor by the Catholic Church for her dedication to humanity.....not because she performed miracles.”
First statement is correct. Every single human who entrusts himself to Christ alone for salvation has eternal life and is immediately a saint.
Second statement and actions pervert the first, by pretending to a second class of saint based on false miracles and earned sainthood.
Best.
This is so strange, a “miracle” attributed to someone who people prayed to.
Pray to dead people all you want, they cannot hear them or act on them.
Pure foolishness deeming anyone a “saint” as the Bible says all believers are saints, and as a matter of fact a royal priesthood. ALL, as also noted upthread.
