It’s a great term and, AFAIK, it’s the first time that any candidate has talked about the Democrat reason for supporting illegal immigration.

It is a balancing act, since Democraps will say that Cruz only opposes illegal immigration because these poor souls vote Democrap.

Data from the Pew Research Center suggests that immigrants who are in the country illegally are more likely to vote Democratic than Republican, but not overwhelmingly so. Around 54 percent of unauthorized Latino immigrants in 2013 said they identified with or leaned toward the Democratic Party, compared to 19 percent who said the same of the Republican Party.

Sounds pretty friggin' overwhelmingly to me!

NPR is reporting this as if it's some sort of surprise why Democrats are so eager to import millions of people with the promise of Democrat handouts and then register them to vote.
