You got right to the heart of the judgment issue with Trump. In a dangerous world, we do not need an ego driven, reactionary in a pissing contest with other leaders. Everything that Trump does is governed by his ego. At one time I would have voted for him, but as time goes on, I have seen his behavior as more of a disqualifier.

Same here. When those Iowa poll numbers started showing him ahead I started to take him seriously. A (mostly) moderate like him winning Iowa would be a huge story, but the media is portraying reality the way they want.

I still haven’t given up on Cruz, but I’m very concerned that his poll numbers with moderates is in the single digits. He can’t win unless he persuades them to support him.

Cruz and Trump are both wrong. They should both reject ethanol production outright.

Really? So you are for politicians mandating what citizens can and cannot produce?

Fascinating. How about politicians staying hands-off the means of production and allowing the marketplace to pick winners and losers?

The indoctrination runs deep.

Why not? We have a lot of FReepers demanding to say why, when and how Iowans have neighborhood meetings.

Cruz continued, Washington should not be in the business of picking winners and losers. "When it comes to energy, I think we should have an all-of-the-above approach, but it should be driven by the market."

Cruz and Trump are opening up the discussions... Both amazing men.

We’ll see come Feb. 1. His polling numbers may be more of a general population rather
than a caucus goer support. I’ve read articles that say he has boots on the ground in all
99 counties, etc. But the real answer comes down to who can get their supporters to the
caucuses to sit around for a couple of hours listening to others tout their candidate.

Anyway hope all is well with you.

Cruz and Trump aren’t bashing each other. You sound like the MSM pushing for a fight!

I said they should reject ethanol. I did not say they should mandate anything.

Would you deny them their right to an opinion?
Does the First Amendment mean nothing to you?
Are you that obtuse?

he supports it ONLY if the free market will support it.....which it will probably not. You still did not answer my constitutional point, since there is no way to not support it at all unless the implication is you’ll make it illegal.

I just donated to the Ted Cruz campaign. I did so because our nation is at a cross road. Socialism, racism, Islam, and financial disaster are at our doorstep. In the last 8 years or national debt has doubled, employment and GDP are stale. I believe this generation will determine whether we go the route of Venezuela, Europe, or our Patriots, who fought and died for our freedoms again tyranny. My prayer is that you will look at our candidates carefully, vote, even in the primaries, as though your children’s and your grandchildren’s future depend upon it, because they do.

I support Ted Cruz, because he stands with our founding fathers and their dream. He is the real conservative candidate and his track record proves this. while I’m not asking you to donate to Ted Cruz, please consider supporting Ted. He is the Ronald Reagan of our generation.

The constitutional point is self-evident.

Cruz, president or not, has not power to “make” anything illegal.

Constitutionally, only Congress can.

Cruz can offer an opinion, express a preference, even call for action. And he should, but that is all he can do.

To a degree I agree, but I see a lot of patriotism in him.

Whether or not he would play for pay if the Big Guy, unlikely unless he already wanted to do the ‘paid for’ whatever.
