What kind of defense of Trump is that? Either Trump supported the IRA or he made a colossal mistake by attending that event. This is a big enough issue that Trump needs to address it.
Guess who else supported Sein Finn
For example, what have the late former heavyweight champion of the world Joe Frazier, documentary filmmaker Michael Moore, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and a former senior executive at Lehman Brothers got in common?
The thread that ties this eclectic group of individual celebrities, powerful blue collar unions and Wall Street is support for Sinn Fein fundraising efforts in North America, either by attending a $500-a-plate fundraiser at the Sheraton Hotel in Manhattan or other US Sinn Fein events, or by direct donation via the party’s US fundraising arm, Friends of Sinn Fein.
Congrats.
Frankly I'm appalled that you're appalled over a $200 donation, yet seem so unconcerned about what Rotherham means about the culture of England.
It's called context.....
Oh, here we go! Europeans blaming Americans for everything again. It’s amazing to me that both Brits and the Irish (Republic) now seem to think we not only totally funded the IRA, each and every American supported it. I have news for you: most Americans think the IRA stands for their investment retirement account. Blame your own history of oppression against these people and the lunatic Irish who created one of the most disgustingly violent movements in western history. The Donald shaking Adams’ hand does not a terrorist make.
If you believe that, then the KKK will win big in 2016.

Even 15 years ago, post the IRA ceasefire, Bianca Jagger, Tom Hayden, filmmaker Michael Moore and former Mayor of Washington David Dinkins, broke bread with Mr Adams at a $200-a-plate luncheon at the Essex House Hotel overlooking Central Park, designed to raise funds for a new lobbying office in Washington DC.
You’re welcome.
You tell me what it means and while your at it tell me who it was and the motivations of who said this.
My question answers itself, doesn’t it?
I am well aware, as is every Brit, that most Americans didn’t support it. But enough did. And raised millions and shipped many arms.
At best he was neive. And its relevant today, when he rants off about terrorism. Nobody forced him to go. And yes, Americans knew then about the IRA (or the Irish Republican Army as the US media annoyingly used to call them as if they were a legitimate army).
I have no political axe to grind, I was disgusted as were many British that Slick Willie even let Adams in the country, I never forgave him for that. And on FR, I heavily criticised the huge IRA apologist Peter King.
I am appalled over both. Why do you think I not?.
Quite a collection of low-lifes. I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make.
Sad. Worrying.
You realise the IRA killed an American and maimed others.
You couldn’t find Kew Gardens on a map but it didn’t stop you from pontificating about its inhabitants. Look, if you don’t develop a thicker skin around here you’re going to be eaten alive today.
No one here, in their right mind, believes that The Donald is a supporter of the IRA. The clever manipulation of Sinn Fein’s public relations was that money raised was going to help widows and orphans. And it was entirely manipulated towards left-wing Americans. I doubt the disgusting Gerry stood at the podium and begged for money to blow up parts of the underground and Harrods.
Just bringing more info from another source.
What you don’t know about Blaine Trump and Ivana could fill a book! You are married, by any chance?
Those are terrorists who attack our ally, not us. That’s different.....
Maybe you were too long at the hookah this morning but on an earlier thread the owner of this site once again went all in for the 'Trump Revolution'.
Perhaps you want to tell him to shut up (post #41) too instead of shouting Go Trump Go!
Have NO idea what you are saying here. All I did was pull a quote from the article.
Americans like to shout it like some form of tourettes, when they couldnât find it on a map.
Shrugging this off as an American affliction for pointing it out didn't exactly make me think you cared.
No matter, your culture has not done anything about it, but sit there and cower.
I just don't want us to make the same mistake.
