What about the NSA saying that they have the necessary tools to do their job under the USA Freedom Act and that it is an actual improvement?
No, Donald. Except for a couple of sections, it does nothing but interfere with the liberties of Americans.
I don't know the context of that alleged statement, but the USA Freedom Act is the Patriot Act without bulk data collection. It's difficult to comprehend how not having speedy and emergency access to phone records would be an improvement to operations.
He must think the people equate the Patriot Act with protection from attack. It’s really just another layer of bureaucracy and protects only the employees who work there.
Who decides if you have something to hide?
I encourage all conservatives to read this:

That is what happens when our Constitutional right to face our accusers and the concept of innocent until proven guilty is abandoned.
Who’s watching the watchers?
If anyone is interested the rerun of the History Channel’s Trump feature

The technology is now in place to allows the NSA to access the necessary information in real time.
No fan of the Patriot act, but if Trump can work to seal the boarders, return the illegals and block the terrorists from coming in that would ease the pain.
The Feds gather so much data now it is worthless...since they can’t seem to stop terrorists from attacking on our soil. Or if they can limit the act with warrant requirements and data deletion (if you can trust them...probably not). Unfortunately, in the end, the Feds are going to snoop whether there is a Patriot Act or not.
I doubt there will be a candidate I ever agree with 100%. But I’ll settle for 90%...I haven’t seen one recently hit 50% (in action, not words).
Because Metadata collection is still ongoing. The data just stays in a collected pool managed by the Telecoms. There's just more red tape, which basically eliminates the entire purpose of the program: speedy and easy access to metadata during an emergency.
"Under the previous framework, I, as the head of the NSA, was delegated the authority and the responsibility in emergency situations to authorize access to the data. I then had to go to the [FISA] court and to the attorney general and put into writing why I did it, what I did, and what the basis for that decision was," Rogers answered. "Now as we transition to the new law, which we have to have firmly in place by November the 29th, I have lost that authority. It has now been raised to the attorney general and I will have to approach the attorney general for why she needs to authorize emergency access."
...
"The Obama administration pushed hard for the end of metadata collection, so Rogersâs testimony marks a rare moment of discord with the president."

No, I’m talking about the technology that Mike Lee brought up back in June that enables NSA to collect the data they need in real time under the USA Freedom Act. Mike Lee was one of the strongest supporters of the USA Freedom Act.. The head of all the National Security Agencies, Paul Clapper, is happy with the USA Freedom Act, so I don’t know what the beef is.
I haven't heard anything about metadata collection being eliminated by Telecoms or any special technology that now allows the NSA to get instant records from the Telecoms.
I only know what Mike Lee said and the NSA agreed. I don’t think they want much known about the particulars. Too easy for hackers.
NO WAY you big government statist
Trump better get them to stop naming his American supporters as terrorists. That is why they lost power. They were using it against Americans the uniparty hates; not against Islamic terrorists as intended. That includes vets, second amendment supporters, pro lifers, Christians, etc. They have Muslims advising them!
