“Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say, ‘What should be the reward of such sacrifices?’ Bid us and our posterity bow the knee, supplicate the friendship, and plough, and sow, and reap, to glut the avarice of the men who have let loose on us the dogs of war to riot in our blood and hunt us from the face of the earth? If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”
-Samuel Adams
Enjoy your chains...
Last time I looked, the 2nd didn’t say “shall not be infringed... except for felons - or whomever the gov’t might not approve of.”
You may not like it but the 2nd is absolute and ANY kind of “permit” is an infringement, like it or not.
Just like the “poor”, the idiots will always be with you. You can educate them but then all you get are educated idiots. Sort of like yourself, it seems.
On the plus side, everyone in my class knew how to at least somewhat handle a firearm, and nobody pointed their weapons at other students. That was what the instructor called an insta-fail.
Good grief! Please Samuel, or is it Mr. Adams, please spare me all the drama. Most folks that come out against a permitting process are those who have not or CANNOT pass a background check and or cannot comprehend the materials in which to pass the written test. Ya probably shoot ok...I'll give ya that much.
We are a nation of laws, sorry if that hurts your lil bitty feelings. Ain't gonna change just cause of you. So, get over yourself. Put your musket back in the closet, take off the regalia and come on into society will ya.
We had the sales pitch as well, I purchased the insurance for CHL holders. Texas Law Shield. Covers all legal fees, bond, expert witnesses. Gives me a piece of mind.
And what permitting and background checks did the writers of the Constitution and the other citizens need?
A motorcycle is an entirely different thing and would be better compared to the horse. Both are dangerous to the untrained.
You are still wanting the government to be everyone’s nanny.
We are a nation of too many laws;most passed at the instigation of people who really don’t like freedom.
I,for one, had no trouble passing local, state, and federal background checks for my job. This included psychological screening tests, and fingerprints and photos are on file with multiple agencies.
Just the same,I resent the system which forces unConstitutional requirements on U.S. citizens.
The Constitution and laws were meant to be read and understood by the citizenry;the growth of lawyers and judges “interpreting” new meanings into plain language is an abomination.
You,and those like you, demanded the forging of new chains to replace those the Revoluntionary War shattered.
Stop being a dumb @$$. We are on the same side and you don't have to justify yourself to me, just stop tossing insults like, “you and those like you”, I'm not advocating putting chains on anyone and you damn well know it.
This is not the frontier. We have millions more people on the planet and densely populated in many areas.
Just as you should show aptitude in the operation of a crane, motorcycle, auto, aircraft...folks should be able to demonstrate some level of aptitude while carrying a firearm in a public place, concealed or open. In your home/on your own property...carry away any how you choose, but when other folks kiddos are around and there ever came a time YOU pull your weapon in a crowded shopping mall to cap a muzzie...I damn well would like to know you have some level of common sense scruples.
I know folks who belong to militia and 99% are good upstanding people, responsible, knowledgeable, but there are always in every group that one dumb @$$. Screws up their reputation, their goals, their focus of being accepted in the mainstream because of his mouth or actions. Their focus is like a beeline...single issue guy and all they can think about is the glory days of the revolution, standing tall and proud on a cliffside overlooking the smoldering remains of the battlefield.
I am as pro-gun as any person on this planet. So stop painting with a broad brush like you have all the answers and everyone who disagrees is somehow a marxist, anti-American, anti-gun government snitch.
Constitutional carry.
Nobody should need your permission.
